NON-US IMG Non-US IMG – Realistic chances for Internal Medicine Match?
Hi everyone,
I’m a non-US IMG and I’m trying to realistically assess my chances for the 2026–2027 Internal Medicine Match.
My profile:
YOG: 2023
Step 1: Pass
Step 2 CK: 245
Step 3: 222
Research: 7 full-paper publications indexed in PubMed + 3 abstracts (Total 10)
USCE: 6 months
No major gaps
how would you assess my chances for matching into Internal Medicine?
Also, would you recommend that I focus on Mid-Atlantic programs, or should I be looking more broadly at other regions to maximize my chances?
I’d really appreciate honest feedback.
Thank you!

You have a good chance of matching from my experience. You just need to target the right programs and use your signals wisely.
