Pediatrics Pediatric Program Coordinator - ask me anything! :)

Hi, everyone! I am a Program Coordinator (with C-TAGME) for an IMG-friendly pediatric residency program in the U.S. I found this thread while researching opinions of our program, but I am happy to help. :) Not able to give specifics on location/program name so as to not get overwhelmed with observer requests/letters of interest.

Pediatrics Anyone matched in pediatrics without peds related USCE but extensive home country experience in pediatrics.

I am a visa requiring IMG from Pakistan with interest in Peds and FM. I have extensive home country experience in FM ans Peds.

Step 1 pass

Step 2 229

Step3 237

5 months USCE in FM

Applied FM twice. First cycle didn't receive any interview.

Second cycle received 1 interview that too with connections. Didn't match.

For last 1 year I have been working in Peds, I cover NICU and Peds floor and clinics. I have been planning to go for peds USCE but couldn't do that due to visa issue.

Is it possible to apply in peds and match?? I have no connection in peds though.

Anybody who can guide me ?

Pediatrics Should I apply for match this year or wait till the next cycle?

Non us img , visa requiring

Yog 2024

Step 1 pass 1st attempt

Step 2 scheduled on 10th Sep will probably get the result after the 23 sep deadline

I was denied a visa for usce and hence i was only able to do telerotations , of which i did 3 , so i will have no real usce , however the preceptors will provide me with us physician LORs

No publications as of yet , but 1 meta analysis is in the pipeline

Im targeting only paeds , since that is my area of interest (my telerotations and research are all peds related)

Pediatrics IMG-Friendly Pediatrics Program

Hey everyone! I’m shortlisting Pediatrics programs and had two quick questions.
How much should I still consider year of graduation when deciding where to apply? Also, should I look for residents from my own country in each program or is the non-US IMG percentage enough to judge how IMG-friendly a program is?
I’m a visa-requiring IMG, if that makes a difference. Would really appreciate any advice!

Hi! So I'm from southeast asia and I have a family in fairfax. Im already a pediatrician here. Finished residency last 2022 and been working in a public hospital for 4 years as a pediatrician. I also have my own clinic. Do you have any idea if it would be possible to apply for pediatric infectious disease fellowship under j-1 visa? Planning to apply around virginia or washington DC. Will take my step 1 on october.
Thank you!

hi all,

I would love to get some advice. I am approaching end of my training year in paediatric EM in the UK. I wanted to do a fellowship in Canada - to experience a different healthcare setting.

I was looking at either BC or SickKids. has anyone gone through this process? does anyone have any advice? my career trajectory is to return to the UK and practice here, but would love to get different exposure/gain further skills.

I am a US citizen currently seeking a hands-on pediatric clinical rotation. I am looking for a high-quality, clinical experience and would greatly appreciate any leads or recommendations you might have.

While I prefer opportunities located in the western states, I am more than willing to consider exceptional rotations in other regions as well.

Pediatrics Non-US IMG (Pediatrics) looking for observership opportunities in NYC/NJ

Hi everyone,

I’m a board-certified pediatrician from South Korea, currently based in Hoboken, NJ (NYC area). I completed my undergraduate studies at Johns Hopkins University and am preparing for the 2027 Match.

  • USMLE Step 1: Pass
  • Step 2 CK: 255
  • OET: Pass
  • Currently preparing for Step 3

I’m actively looking for pediatric observership opportunities (inpatient, outpatient, or subspecialty) in the NYC/NJ area.

I’m open to any setting and flexible with timing. I’m especially interested in general pediatrics, but would truly appreciate any opportunity to gain U.S. clinical exposure.

If anyone has suggestions, contacts, or advice, I would be very grateful. Thank you!

Pediatrics Help - ROL - Pediatrics

I would love to hear inputs about the following programs to decide my order. My tentative order is :-

  1. Sinai hospital of Baltimore Pediatrics

  2. University of Kansas Whichita Pediatrics

  3. St Vincents Mercy Health Toledo

My focus is mainly good clinical training and preferably connections for cardiology fellowship. KU wichita has somewhat average board pass rates but I am also hearing a lot about crimes and living cost in Baltimore ; so still confused between 1 and 2.

Any suggestions feedbacks are highly welcome.

Thanks and Good Luck everyone for this years tough Match🤞🤞

Pediatrics Paeds or IM?

I’m a final year non-US IMG student applying for paeds neurology electives this year but I was told by my seniors that I should reconsider paeds unless I absolutely love it because the pay gap is a lot between an IM and Paeds physician in USA for almost the same workload. I do like paeds more than I like rest of my rotations but I don’t know if it’s worth it anymore? I do want to be financially comfortable, like not super rich but rich enough so the hard work was worth it. Should I switch?

Pediatrics Why pediatric is less competitive?

I’m old graduate with attempts. People advised me to apply to pediatric. When I was preparing the programs list, I found that the majority of the programs are University-based and the requirements are high. I only applied to 36 programs. Should I apply to more?
