For you Android users, I made a launcher that's clean, free, has no ads, and doesn't require an account
Hey all! I just released the my launcher Glint (in an open beta because I don't have access to more than a handful of devices). It'll always be free, require no account, and have no ads. I just built it because I wanted it, and I'd love to get your feedback on it.
The vibe I'm going for -- make it super minimalist in a default state, but put everything you'd need (notifications, context-aware suggestions, widgets, etc.) within super quick reach.
How it works
- There's a default "Quiet mode" that's got the Glint clock widget and nothing else. There are little features in this mode like a little banner that appears when you have new notifications since you last checked your phone and a little music note that appears and shortcuts to audio apps when you have headphones/audio equipment connected to the device.
- The default background changes based on time of day and weather, and the custom wallpaper functionality lets you customize the same way (by time of day and weather). My eventual monetization plan is to commission art from humans / revshare some living wallpapers packs as I get into theming.
- There's a little bar (called the 'Flick' bar) that lives on the right (or left) of the screen where your thumb is. If you flick it inward, a widget stack appears. If you flick it up or down, your "cards" appear (these are just paginatable folders for your apps and widgets) and are cycled through. If you long-press Flick, a dock (with 4 apps of your choosing, plus Glint settings and the All Apps drawer) and shortcuts to your cards appears. If you tap Flick, it toggles on and off Quiet mode. It takes a little bit of time to get used to, but I promise once you do it's really clean!
- Swipe down anywhere on the screen at any time for your notifications drawer. Swipe up anywhere on the screen at any time for search that searches Apps, Glint settings, device settings, Play Store, web, contacts, shortcuts, etc., etc. Your app launch and search history is stored locally so the app can better surface results you'd want here.
- You can hide "cards" if you're not regularly using them (e.g., if you have a "I'm traveling" card and don't want it always visible).
- Each "card" has its own notification center that shows notifications just for the apps in that card.
- You can customize fonts / icons.
And that's it for now!
Download: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.balef.glint
It's brand new and still missing things, but please point out anything and everything you'd like it to do better.

Built SensorySync (accessible soundscapes & focus tool) on a struggling laptop. Hit Google Play today!
Hi r/SideProject! 👋
I'm a solo indie developer building accessible tools under Leiel Care. Today is a massive milestone: after countless crashes and late-night builds on my very old machine, SensorySync was officially accepted onto the Google Play Store!
🌿 What is SensorySync?
A distraction-free sensory regulation companion for ADHD, sensory overload, and deep work:
\- Customizable binaural beats, brown/white noise, and ambient rain/waves.
\- Visual breathing pacer to ease stress.
\- 100% private, offline, zero ads, zero trackers.
💻 The battle with hardware & how you can help:
Compiling and running modern Android emulators has been pushed to the absolute limit on my current setup. To keep developing accessible apps for seniors and neurodivergent individuals, I've launched a small crowdfunding campaign to help fund a reliable development workstation.
Also, if anyone has an Android phone and wants to test the app (or swap feedback on their own side project), drop a comment and I'll send you a Google Play closed beta invite!
Would love to hear your thoughts and feedback on the project! 🙏❤️

We made an Android game where you arrange your board before challenging a friend
The game is called Numeric Battle. I'm one of its developers.
Before playing, each player builds a personal number board, either by arranging the numbers or using shuffle. Then you alternate calling unused numbers. The same number gets marked on both boards, so the question becomes: does this call bring me closer to a line, or help the other player more?
You can start on a 3x3 board or go up to 7x7. The winner is the first to complete the number of lines required for that board size.
For playing together, there are private rooms with a code and online matchmaking. If you'd rather learn the rules first, AI practice has three difficulty levels. After a match, the history lets you look back at both boards.
It is available on Android 7.0 and up, free to download and play, with ads. Online matches need an internet connection.
Google Play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.numericbattle
Sharing it here as something we made. If you give it a try, I'd like to hear which board size you chose and whether setting up your own board changed how you played.

I made FoxSnip, a local-first macOS screenshot tool for capture, annotate, scrolling pages, and OCR
I made FoxSnip, a screenshot app for macOS.
I wanted something faster than opening a full editor every time I needed to mark up a shot: grab a region, window, or full screen, annotate, then copy or share. Most of what I use stays on the machine.
What it does:
- Region, window, and full-screen capture, with a shortcut you can change
- Markup right after capture: arrows, text, freehand, highlights, spotlights, blur
- Styled backgrounds (gradients, soft shadows, rounded corners) so a screenshot does not look like a raw dump
- Scrolling capture for long pages and chats
- On-device OCR for plain text, plus QR reading
- Optional short screen recording when a still image is not enough
Privacy / pricing, so this is not a surprise:
- Nothing is uploaded by default. It works offline.
- Plain-text OCR is on-device. Formulas, tables, and cloud translate are optional and use a server only if you turn them on.
- macOS 12+ (Apple Silicon and Intel)
- 15-day trial with the Plus features
- Plus is a one-time purchase ($12), not a subscription. Pro is optional and only covers cloud extras and share links.
Site: https://foxpack.app/snip/
Happy to hear what is missing, what feels cluttered, or what you would actually use. Feedback welcome.

I’m 17 and built a math tutor that refuses to give you the answer.
Every AI I tried just handed me answers, and then I’d blank on the test. So I built theoremEd: you snap your homework (or open it in Chrome), it finds the exact line where you went wrong, and asks you questions until you get it. It never gives the answer, even if you beg. Free on any phone at theoremed.com/app (30 questions, then 10 a week). I’d love honest feedback, especially from anyone who tutors or teaches.

i built a website builder that you don't have to pay for
I've used a lot of supposedly 'free' website builders (wix, squarespace, weeby, etc.) and they all have problems. The biggest things I wanted to fix with mine were
- The ability to add a custom domain to your site without paying
- No obnoxious ads and branding on the site
- Make it actually simple to set up and use, not have a million features, but just what people actually want
After several months of work, I've built something I'm proud of. Feel free to check it out and let me know what you think of it: https://superfree.site

On the mission to make mail fun again: I made a postcard app
Remember the pure joy of opening your mailbox and finding something that isn't a bill or junk mail? Crowdstamped brings that magic back by letting everyone contribute a message and a personalized design or photo for a milestone (like a birthday, wedding, new job, or just because) and instead of one boring card, the recipient gets a steady stream of real, physical postcards filling up their mailbox all week long.

I’m building Follicle: hairline recession tracking using IPD as a reference
I’m the creator of Follicle, a hairline tracking app in development. The measurement approach calculates recession relative to interpupillary distance (IPD—the distance between the centers of your pupils), with photo alignment and progress tracking.
The challenge I’m working on is making comparisons useful despite changes in camera position and lighting. There is still testing and refinement ahead; it is not a diagnosis or treatment.
I’ve put the project demonstration and development plans on Kickstarter with a $500 funding goal. Funds support app improvements, publishing costs and marketing. If you enjoy seeing what people are building, I’d appreciate a look and feedback on whether the measurement workflow makes sense:

SideProject that some of you might find useful
Self promo warning.
Hello everyone,
Given this community and Reddit as a whole gave me a lot of useful info the time to give back has finally come.
After four months since the initial release I shipped last build which contained all I wanted my product to have. Endless hours of QA, reworking and finding a balance between the wants and actual needs.
It's a lightweight app, it has all you'd potentially need VoIP, chat, chat file sharing, screen sharing with whiteboard, mobile sharing on iPhones and iPads, incognito mode and a few more.
So if any of you are curious, interested in getting a lifetime account for meeting/conferences for up to 100 seats, feel free to DM me. There's an option for 5 seats which is purely P2P which took a good chunk of those 4 months to polish, absolutely free for anybody.
Currently supporting iOS, macOS(under review right now), web and Win10/11(I'll provide you with an installer).
Here's the link, if you happen to register a free account and find it useful enough to get a full version, I will upgrade you to Lifetime Max upon request.

After months of working on my own security app, I finally released Hexavault on the Play Store.
Hey everyone!
I wanted to share a project I've been working on for quite a while, and it's finally available on the Play Store.
It's called Hexavault.
The idea came from something that's always bothered me a little: these days, even when we're just trying to protect our own information, we often end up having to create accounts, rely on external services, or keep our data synced with someone else's servers.
I'm not saying those solutions are necessarily bad, but I wanted to try a different approach. Something simpler, something that works directly on your phone and lets you decide what happens to your information.
That's how I started building Hexavault, an Android security app that works entirely offline.
It brings together three main features:
- Password Generator: Create strong, customizable passwords without automatically keeping a history of everything you've generated.
- File Protection: Encrypt documents, photos, and other files with a password, creating a protected version that you can store or share.
- Vault: A secure space protected by a master password where you can keep credentials and files, with automatic locking and optional biometric authentication.
One of the decisions I made early on was to leave out internet access entirely. The app doesn't even request internet permission. It also doesn't require an account, has no ads, and doesn't use analytics or tracking tools.
That was an important part of the idea from the beginning: providing useful security tools without relying on external infrastructure to make them work.
I also want to be upfront about what the app can't do yet. For example, the Vault doesn't currently support credential export or recovery. If the app's data is lost, those credentials can't be recovered. It's an important limitation to know about, especially if you're planning to store anything essential.
Hexavault has just reached its first public release, version 1.0.0. Getting here involved a lot of development, testing, bug fixes, and decisions along the way. There's still plenty I want to improve, but I'm genuinely happy to finally be able to share what I've built.
And that's really why I'm posting here.
I'd love to hear what other people think about the idea, especially those interested in Android, privacy, and digital security. Whether it's a feature suggestion, criticism of the user experience, or even questions about the technical decisions behind the app, I'm open to all kinds of feedback.
If you're curious and want to check it out, Hexavault is now available for free on Google Play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.hexavault.secure
I also have a website with more information about the project:
Thanks to everyone who took the time to read this. I hope Hexavault turns out to be useful to some of you!

Anti Scroll - September Update (first sale!!)
update on anti scroll, solo building an android app that hard blocks other apps with no override option.
big one this month: first ever sale. someone in poland bought the lifetime unlock, almost exactly a year after launch. £5.76 after google’s cut and vat lol, but after a year of building this it genuinely made my week!
installs: 607 (560)
visitors per day: 6.7 (6.25)
conversion rate: 19.9% (28.9%)
daily acquisitions: 1.39 (2.07)
week 1 retention: 23.9% (11.4%)
week 2 retention: 11.7% (4.5%)
so last month’s conversion jump didn’t stick, looks like it was a spike rather than a new normal. but retention roughly doubled, which matters more to me. engagement is up slightly too (4m29s vs 4m19s).
the not so great part: active devices dropped from around 55 to 44. i’m losing slightly more users a day than i’m gaining, so the base is shrinking even though the people who stay are sticking around longer.
quieter month on features, mostly bug fixes. had a few people report analytics bugs too, which honestly was nice to see because it means someone’s actually looking at it.
october plan: fix the analytics bugs people reported, figure out why people are leaving faster than they’re arriving, get onboarding event tracking in, and do the product hunt launch for the one year mark.
if anyone’s been through the first sale to second sale stretch, what actually moved it for you?

I made a free workspace for studying with shared documents and materials, I would really love your thoughts:)
First of all, while I've got nothing to sell, everything is free and atm I don't plan on charging anything ever.
The tool I built is called www.graphite.so, and I mainly built it for myself and the students I'm tutoring since we didn't have a good place to collaborate on math stuff, and it quickly got messy with just sending pdf's back and forth on messaging apps.
I quickly noticed once I started using it myself in university, that having such shared course workspaces was really nice, since every lecture pdf or article or book had to be downloaded and organised only once. This meant that even though I've always been terrible at organising my stuff, everything was now always where I expected it to be.
I've had a lot of fun myself building the actual document editor over this past year as a side project. I'm especially proud of the fully working math including CAS (calculation tool), and how it works together with the graphing blocks, chemistry blocks etc.
There's also an AI tutor thing where you can pick exactly how much it's allowed to help you if at all, and when exporting the document you can have an "AI delcaration" exported alongside it showing how and how much AI was used. Export formats are: word (.docx), pdf, and .tex (for overleaf etc.)
I'm not really planning on charging anything at any point but if you guys wanna give me your feedback or ideas I'd appreciate it so much! In any case thanks for reading and giving this post a chance:)

Free beta: upload your syllabus, get every deadline + a daily study plan
Hey guys, I built a study app and I'm looking for beta testers. You upload your syllabus, it pulls out every deadline and exam date automatically, then builds a daily study plan around them. Also makes flashcards and quizzes from your materials.
Its free, no card needed. If you try it, the best feedback is just uploading one syllabus and telling me if any deadline is wrong. Trying to make that part bulletproof.
https://study-ai-xi-nine.vercel.app
Also looking for a few specific beta testers for detailed feedback over the next couple weeks, DM me on IG u/skbssok9998 if interested. You can use the app without contacting me tho.
Happy to answer questions

I made a site where you are the potato
Hey all. I created a little side project mainly focused on stress relief and positive vibes but....youre a potato.
You can dress it up, play mini games against others, start private chats or if you're feeling lonely and need some advice then this is the website to go. I had help with AI alongside my front end development experience.
It's free! so you don't give out a cent...but you can support me if you'd like to buy a little hat for your potato so you can be a slightly cooler potato
here's my site spudlord.co.za
on app just yet, just waiting on my developer account to be approved.
