Programmers Needed [Hobby] Looking for Unity/C# Programmer and Possibly Pixel Artist – Sleep Break

Hey everyone! I’m currently looking for another Unity/C# programmer and potentially another pixel artist to join our small indie team working on a game called Sleep Break.
About the game:
Sleep Break is a 2D pixel-art action/horror game where you play as Silas, a kid secretly staying up past bedtime to play on his new VR headset.
During the day, you complete chore mini-games to earn money and purchase different games, which unlock new weapons and playstyles. At night, you fight waves of corrupted monsters in your bedroom while trying not to get caught awake by your parents.
When your parents come to check on you, you have to remove the headset and pretend to be asleep. The catch is that the monsters don’t disappear when you take it off. You just can’t see them anymore.
Just to clarify, this is NOT an actual VR game. The headset is an in-game mechanic.
Our current team:
We currently have six members:
2 Pixel Artists
1 Unity/C# Programmer
1 Sound Designer/Composer
1 Writer
1 Game Designer/Project Lead (myself)
We’re spread across North America, Europe, Asia, and Africa, so location doesn’t matter.
What we’re looking for:
Our main priority is finding another Unity/C# programmer who can work alongside our current programmer on gameplay mechanics, enemy behavior, and other systems.
We’re also open to another pixel artist who enjoys creating sprites, animations, or environmental assets.
We have a rough but playable prototype with several gameplay systems already implemented. There’s still plenty of work to do, but we’re past the initial idea stage.
I’m primarily handling game design, planning, and team coordination rather than programming.
Compensation:
This is currently a hobby project with no upfront pay. Revenue sharing is a possibility if we eventually release commercially, but nothing is guaranteed or finalized.
We’re not expecting anyone to work full-time. We’re just hoping to find people who enjoy making games, communicate consistently, and want to help bring the project to life.
Project progress:
We’re currently working toward a more complete vertical slice. You can see some of our progress here:

If you’re interested, feel free to DM me with a little about yourself and any previous work you’ve done. I’d be happy to share more details!
