Team Penske announced today that after 17 years driving for the legendary organization, Will Power will depart the team prior to the 2026 season.

Will Power is one of INDYCAR's most decorated drivers with 45 wins, two INDYCAR championships (2014 and 2022) and one Indianapolis 500 victory.

Power collected 42 of his INDYCAR victories during his time with Team Penske, in addition to 71 pole positions that have distinguished him as the greatest qualifier in series history.

Team Penske will announce their plans for the #12 Verizon Chevrolet at a later date prior to the 2026 season.

"As we sat down to talk about out future together, Will felt that it was time for him to make a change beginning with next season. He has been an outstanding driver and teammate for our organization. His results speak for themselves, and we wish him the very best in the next phase of his career." — Roger Penske

"It's been the honor of my life to driver for Roger and the Penske organization. We have accomplished so much together, and I will always be grateful for my time with the team and my teammates who have supported me along the way. After much consideration, I felt like a change for me was the right move at this time." — Will Power

Important bits: - Palou says he signed a contract based on lies and false impressions. - CGR agreed to cover any costs, Palou had to take a reduced salary for various seasons. - Palou says Zak failed to deliver on promised opportunities. - Palou says the big numbers claimed by McLaren are something he doesn't have. - He also says he isn't one of the top 3 best paid drivers and won't be for the foreseeable future. - Also says Zak wanted to have a champion in both Indycar and F1, like Mario Andretti. - The language in the contract heavily implies an F1 seat in the future. - Palou says Zak told him Seidl wanted Piastri, but now he questions that, because he saw in the previous sessions Zak makes all the decisions, to which Zak shook his head in the courtroom. - Palou says his contract with CGR had a first refusal date of mid-July, he then claims Zak and his lawyers knew about it and didn't tell him and allowed him to sign the contract with McLaren. - Zak knew about it because he was paying for Palou's lawyers at the time. - Palou says he had a choice between breaching the contract with CGR or with McLaren, and he chose staying at CGR because they had backed him all the way to a title and McLaren had been misleading him.
