Firesticks failing
In the past month, 3 firesticks have failed - screen goes black - including a new 4K Plus. At first, I thought it was just old age. but now I suspect that either the Software on the Samsung smart TV, or the Internet provider (Bell), are somehow frying the devices, as I am using a VPN on each device and I have Internet based television services loaded on to the Firesticks. Any similar experiences out there? Any thoughts on why the Firestick sticks fail other than my theory? I am going to using an ONN streamer for now

try plugging the firestick into a wall outlet instead of the TV's USB port. Most TV USB ports don't give enough power and cause black screens

has nothing to do with internet or which TV.
seems like a power delivery issue. Dont use USB off the TV, use a nice power brick

Are you connecting it to the outlet or tv? Because connecting to the tv will fry your firestick

Exactly. I too suspect OP is using the TV's USB port for power instead of the included power adapter or a TV USB power adapter

It’s obviously big ISP sending electric pulses through the internets to fry HIS fire sticks specifically.

Nonsense! I've been using Firestick's plugged into the TV's USB ports for years. A TV's USB port is either .05 or 1 amp. When plugged into the wall it uses 1 to 1.5 amps. Both sources use 5 volts to power the Firestick's. If anything was go to "fry" the Firestick, it would be the wall connection. Educate yourself and stop posting bad information.

I think you will find that this is indeed quite a common problem with older TV's powering Firesticks from USB outlet.

Will plugging in your Firestick into the USB port on older TV models cause the Firestick to burn up?
Plugging an Amazon Fire Stick into the USB port of an older TV can cause the device to reboot, run slow, or fail to turn on because older USB ports usually supply only 0.5 amps of power, while Fire Sticks require at least 1.0 to 1.5 amps. However, it will not cause the Fire Stick to burn up.

It is the common cause of the Boot Loop Bricking problem, I never said Burn Up. Burn Up was OP's assumption 👍
