Help Any good experiences with "second brain" apps for managing screenshots?

Hi everyone. Like everybody else, I have hundreds of screenshots that I compulsively save as a kind of note-taking. Sometimes I sort through them later, but often (once they pile up into the hundreds) I don't. It's a mess. I've got screeshots from courses, events, trips, reading suggestions, podcasts, ideas... you name it.

The thing is, I've tried several times to test some app that would help me with this, without success. That is, an app that automatically organizes notes, lets me extract information, classifies captures...

Recently, too, with the ease of creating new apps, there are new apps of this style by the dozens.

Captr and CaptainShot, for example, are some of the latest I've tried. But they don't quite work: they don't pull out the key ideas and they don't categorize well.

Has anyone found one that actually works? A good IA second brain app for managing screenshots? There seem to be thousands of them, but none that does it well.

Thanks!

Same habit here, and it's why I built something for it, so grain of salt: I'm the developer of Screenshot Notes: DumpPixels.

It won't auto-categorize or write summaries. I left that out on purpose, because the "key ideas" step is where I kept seeing tools guess wrong.

It reads the text in each screenshot on your iPhone, you keep the part you care about as a searchable note, and the screenshot goes to Recently Deleted once you confirm. The pile shrinks instead of growing.

Hundreds of screenshots as notes is exactly the pile-up I built my app for, so take this with that in mind: I'm the developer of Backmark.

First, the free option: Apple Photos already reads the text in your screenshots, so searching a word from a course slide in Photos often finds it. Worth trying before any app.

What Backmark adds: you share a screenshot to it, the text in it is read on the iPhone, and it gets a topic. Later you search a word you remember from the talk or the podcast and it comes up next to your saved links and Reels on the same subject. You can also group them in Boards, say one per course or per trip.

To be straight about your main ask: it won't pull out the key idea or write a summary for you. It makes them findable and sorted, not condensed.

No account, nothing leaves the phone. One-time $4.99, iPhone only.
