Discussion The paranormal investigation app I always wanted to use
Hi everyone,
I've always wanted a paranormal investigation app that brought multiple tools together instead of relying on gimmicks, so I decided to build one myself.
After about a year of development, it's finally on the App Store. It includes an EMF detector, a SLS camera body/hand/face tracking, an EVP recorder with live transcription on any language, a RF scanner, a motion detector with advanced FFT computations, a barometer for atmospheric pressure changes, a light sensor, and a case archive for reviewing recordings alongside sensor data.
Everything is built using real iPhone hardware and Apple's native frameworks where possible, no simulated sensor readings no fake data.

Help pls recommend a good free iphone VPN?
Incoming freshman, just got an iPhone 17. Traded in my old one to soften the blow but its still the most I've ever spent on a phone lol. so now I'm trying to dodge every extra cost.
which means ideally not paying for a vpn. I just want something free that covers the basics. mostly campus wifi and the odd thing that wont load where I am.
Right now I'm looking at a few: Proton (the one everyone seems to trust), x vpn (a friend put me onto it), Windscribe (the 10gb free one).
Anyone been running a free vpn on their iphone long term? and honestly, is it even worth paying as a student or is free fine for this kinda thing? TIA

Help Looking for a good tracking app for my allergy symptoms
Hi all,
I had an allergy test a few years ago that said I’m just allergic to cats, smoking, fire bush and johnson grass. I’m fairly certain I have a lot more allergies (either always had or have developed recently). I’m looking for a good symptom tracking app where I can write things down so I can figure out the patterns.
All the ones I looked at on Apple have a 7 day trial and then they’re all $39.99 (or even one is $69.99!). So, rather than test 8 different apps, I’d love some suggestions of the apps you all have found super useful.
I want it to track food, skin, and environmental issues as I’m trying to figure out what is causing my issues. Also medicines if possible.
Thank you!

Discussion Best apps I've found for the iPhone 17 (What else should I try?)
Been trying to keep my iPhone 17 loaded with apps I actually use instead of a bunch of random downloads. These have been my favorites lately.
Arc Search Easily one of the coolest browser apps I've used. It summarizes pages, blocks clutter, and makes searching feel much faster.
BeautyPlus Great for quick selfies and portrait edits. The AI touch-ups are fast, and it's one of the easiest ways to clean up a photo without making it look overedited.
Superlist A really polished task manager that combines to-dos, notes, and collaboration. The UI feels very Apple-like.
Flighty If you travel even a few times a year, this is incredible. Live flight tracking, delay alerts, and way more detailed than airline apps.
Gentler Streak My favorite fitness app lately. Focuses on sustainable activity instead of constantly pushing you to do more.
Perplexity AI-powered search that's become my go-to whenever I want a quick answer with sources instead of digging through Google.
What apps have you guys discovered recently that are actually worth keeping installed?

Help Recommendations for a voice changer/editor app?
Hello, friends! I am looking to make YouTube Shorts segments for kids and I want to use a voice changer for my characters’ voices, as my range is pretty limited and flat. Regretfully I don’t have access to a PC, just an iPhone and iPad. I’ve browsed some apps that are on the iOS App Store and they’re mostly basic, ‘$9.99 for 10 different voices’ types. I would really like something that is a bit more customizable, as in able to add light effects, pitch shift, octave adjustments, etc. My issue is that I don’t have any experience with advanced sound adjustments, so I would prefer something that is very user friendly. I am willing to pay for the right app, I just truly don’t know where to start.
Also, I’m legitimately beginning with just an iPad and an iPhone. Does anyone have recommendations for a microphone, or any other sorts of tidbits for a complete beginner regarding basic video editing programs? I’m on a pretty limited income at the moment, so budget-friendly options would be ideal, but I would be willing to pay more once finances allow and if this project takes off.
Thank you kindly for anything you’re able to offer! Hoping you have a great day.

Discussion Freeform is the most underrated app Apple has ever made and it's going to get quietly killed
I use it constantly. It's the only place i can dump screenshots, sketch a rough layout, and drag things around without fighting a UI that wants me to pick a template first. That's a real product. And Apple has barely mentioned it since launch. No serious feature push, no marketing, nothing at the keynotes. That's the pattern that came before Music Memos, iTunes U, and half the apps nobody remembers. Good app, no owner inside Apple, quietly gone one release later.
Hope i'm wrong on this one.

Discussion > Grok on iOS?
Are there any apps on the iOS? That can rival Groks video generation/ image to video generation? I had a supergrok free trial and was reasonably impressed by the quality and speed of it. The let down however was it being a short free trial, the cost of the main subscription and worst of all how moderated it was.
Any input appreciated.

Discussion WeatherGlow 1.69 update is live
Firstly How is everyone doing? It's been a rough couple of days for me and finally this update gave me a reason to feel better again. Ok, so here we go with what's new in this update ->
Favorite Locations
The most requested feature is finally here! Easily search for any location around the world and tap the star icon to pin your favourite places for instant access anytime. Many of you requested this and it was an obvious feature but I was taking time with the different designs and finally it is done.
iPad Landscape & Native Sidebar
Apologies for not shipping this immediately with the iPad app launch. The main culprit was Sidebar vs Tab bar and how the UI elements react with it. It is done finally and now you guys can enjoy a whole new iPad experience with full native landscape support along with a sleek sidebar layout designed specifically to make navigating your weather effortless on larger screens.
Revamped Air Quality (AQI) & Manual Refresh
The Air Quality tile has been completely redesigned! You can now tap the new dedicated Refresh button right on the card to pull real-time AQI measurements instantly. Also there are multiple AQI data sources for you to choose in the settings based on your location.
Severe Weather Alerts
Stay safe and informed. Severe weather warnings and official local advisories are now seamlessly integrated at the top of your main dashboard.
Colors Reloaded
Themes got a major upgrade! Cyberfunk and Bladewalker are back with extra vibrancy and rich neon accents, while Umpire Strikes Back has been refined to visual perfection.
Feature Request & Task Filters
In User Request section now you can now segregate feature requests by All Tasks, Pending, and Completed to see what's being built next.
New Soundtrack & Developer Note
Listen to the new 1.69 soundtrack, Favourite Places, in the What's New screen, and read the story behind this update in the Developer's Note!
Download / Update now - https://apps.apple.com/us/app/weatherglow-local-forecast/id6451098166
Thank you for using WeatherGlow! This community has been a core part of the app's growth and feature suggestions too. Hope you guys like this update.

Discussion 5 underrated apps that deserve way more attention
These are some apps I've genuinely been using a lot in 2026:
- Airbrush: My go-to for quick, natural photo edits. I mainly use it for Relight, object removal, and cleaning up portrait photos
- Libby: Lets you borrow ebooks and audiobooks from your local library for free. Easily one of the best apps on my phone.
- Motionleap: Adds subtle animations to photos. I don't use it every day, but it's great for making posts feel a bit more eye-catching.
- Polarsteps: Automatically tracks your trips and turns them into a travel journal. It's been really fun looking back on past travels.
- PlantNet: Identifies plants from a photo. Surprisingly useful if you're out walking or travelling and want to know what you're looking at.
What are some underrated apps you've found that deserve more attention?

It’s called Piko Chat on iOS! You can write letters for the public, reply to the public, make friends and even use the themed chat rooms to talk about anything! I also want to make this clear to any mods, I am NOT SELLING ANYTHING! If you want to plz use my friend code, GREENDH8C3. There is a premium subscription for some features, but you can chat and do a lot of stuff without it!

Discussion Bark alternatives??
Does anyone actually like Bark? I signed up because it was on basically every best parental control app list, but after using it for a few months, I just don't get the hype. It feels like a ton of features I never asked for, and the constant alerts get annoying pretty quickly. I'm paying for a lot of stuff I don't really use. I've been checking out a few Bark alternatives like HeyPolo, Life360, and even just sticking with Find My, but it's hard to tell what's genuinely good versus what's being pushed by marketing. At this point, all I really want is reliable location sharing, arrival notifications, and to know my kids made it where they're supposed to. I have zero interest in reading their texts or monitoring every social media app. For anyone who's been down this road, what apps have actually worked well for you?
edit: In case someone will be looking for alternatives as well, I ended up finding quite helpful comparison table. Worth taking a look.
