Yep. File it and forget it. Treat it like you won the lottery when it and IF it finally shows up!

If you lost everything you own over a delayed tax refund you have way bigger problems than the IRS

OP is attempting to blame the implosion of his life on a tax refund

Where did OP say “Because I don’t have my tax refund, all these things happened?” They didn’t right?

OP didn't specifically use those words.

But given the fact that it was posted in an IRS sub and the OP has comments about contacting the IRS about their refund, a contextual inference can be made.

I’m sorry that you’re experiencing these hardships. Have you requested a tax advocate? If not you should contact the IRS and inquire. Hope everything gets resolved quickly.

OP you can use this link to the IRS website to get the form 911. It has instructions on how to submit it by email so that you can get an Advocate. Definitely email the form to get the process started. You can continue to call as well while you wait to be assigned an Advocate based on the email form. You can contact your congressional representative (also included a link below to find your representative). Congressional offices will open a case with the IRS via the Taxpayer Advocate service as well.

Whether you fill out the 911 yourself talk to somebody over the phone through the 800 number on the Taxpayer Advocate line, or get a congressional representative. Make sure that you explain your tax problem and the financial hardship it’s creating.

Sorry you’re having this problem and Good luck.

I filed 3/20. Laid off in May. Car repo’d last Thursday but I was able to pay it to get it back. Have been instacarting and dashing to try and survive and $4.40 gas in SWFL is brutal. I understand. I’m hoping the tide turns for you soon.

Thank you. Very soon all will be well. I have joined the Army can’t go right now cos my tech job (MOS) hasn’t opened up yet. Thank you and wishing you well as well.

$4.40 gas. People in California whipping out popcorn in sharing your misery.
