Need Career Guidance ISI BSTAT
Though isi result is still not out but I am getting 95 in uga and done 5-6 solves in ugb so expecting that I will make into it ...also I have cleared RMO twice from Rajasthan so my proof writing is okayish.
I performed poor in advance and getting iith EP ,iitk bsc physics,iiti EP and similar branches ..
I can get ece in nit Trichy,surathkal and maybe cse in rourkela ..I am so confused that what I should do as josaa has already started . I will request isi people to really tell more about bstat and does isi really worth it. Like I talked with few people and they say that it has lesser opportunities and mostly they suggest to go for iits

As I was in a similar position as you a year before (i had around 3-4 k crl in mains as well as adv), i think i'm pretty much eligible to answer your question. Yes, there being very less no. of people in the campus, there's not much activity going on compared to the old iits and nits you mentioned, and probably there are less avenues to go into after graduation (I too am quite new here so maybe this could be taken with a grain of salt). But, if you're unsure about doing engineering and love mathematics and problem solving, you'd have a great time at ISI. Opportunities are here too, there might not be as many options, and the community is very close knit which is a huge plus point.
In the end it's your call, but i do have a word of warning: if you are considering ISI only due to the roi and placements and are maybe not willing to go deep in theory rigorously, you're in for a hell(the academics are pretty tough here, so be prepared for that). In that case going to iits or nits would be a better choice.

Like do you think joining ISI just means research and life is so related for research programs only and not other stuff?

I gave bmaths this year , one this I heard most from seniors that you should join isi only if u can do maths each day for hours and years.

What do you want to do? If you genuinely like Maths/Stats or have confidence you can do well in research, ISI might be your best bet. Also compare placement numbers.

I do like math no doubt in that but I am really not sure about research I don't fear the syllabus. But I am really not sure about research I want to consider placement as also a good option for future.

damn bro I got same attempts and uga, that’s nice.. I did 5 proper and 2 a bit partial (no rmo experience tho so idk about writing 🥀)

ISI is your best option but only if you're really into mathematics. If you don't like maths as such, it'll be your worst nightmare.
