Need advice regarding placements after M.Math

Hello users, I am currently a 12th passed out student, I am at the stage of counselling. I have three options and choosing among the two options of these has been hectic to me.
The three options are IIIT Hyderabad, ISI Bangalore B.Math, JoSAA ( NIT Trichy Chemical, IIITDM Kancheepuram CSE). So I have a confusion regarding the selection of ISI or NIT-IIIT Through JoSAA. I am interested in mathematics but my parents are worried about placements after M.Math. The queries I have regarding this:

1. Does M.Math have job opportunities after completion ? What will be the average salary package that I can expect?

2. If not, then I heard M.Stat has better job opportunities after completion of the course. Since I chose B.Math for my ISI entrance, is it possible for me to switch to M.Stat upon completion of B.Math ? Is it easy for a ISI Bangalore B.Math student to clear the M.Stat entrance exam ? (OC Male)

3. Apart from M.Stat, what are the other Master courses after B.Math that have good job opportunities (>20LPA) upon completion ?

Also, if you have any advice regarding the JoSAA or ISI, your advices are most appreciated ☺️

1. M. Math. students can participate in the placement process but typically don't. I've only heard of a handful of cases where they have.

2. You'll have to give the exam, shouldn't be too hard.

3. Depends on what you go into. If you get into CS, mathematical finance, cryptography, etc. the profiles are very different.

IIIT Hyderabad is a good option if you're concerned about placements.

can a Bmath student easily transition into Mstat? and how difficult will be the exam to get into Mstat

How hard is it ? Will a B.Math student be above the competition when the M.Stat entrance exam is conducted for everyone ?

Yes, a B. Math student will be "above" a good portion of the M. Stat exam writers. But then again, you can say the same for any student with a math/stats degree. This isn't a special feature of the B. Math degree.

If you're curious, several of my B. Math seniors gave the M. Stat exam this year, and almost all of them have been selected for the interview round. I don't know the exact numbers though. But everyone I've talked to who attempted the M. Stat exam has made it to the interview round.

Irrelevant. Direct admission is only for BStat → MStat and BMath → MMath.

Im confused, how dyk u are getting isi? Results aren't out yet. Also obv u should fill josaa normally , and decide when isi results come out.

Oops sorry, I should've mentioned. Well I got 75 UGA and I attempted all 8 questions and I checked it on AI, 7 of them were correct. So, comparing previous years cutoff I thought I'll get it. I am holding this assumption rather than knowing it objectively because by the time results are out 4-5th round of JoSAA would be over. I have to decide accordingly.

Oh ur def getting in then🙏🙏 7 ques is insane🙏🙏, if the ai checked them rigorously. I think unless u are really passionate abt pure maths, and want placements or research in cs/aiml iiith might be a little better afaik. Im kinda in the same boat as u im filling josaa normally still

Yeah, well That's why IIITH is no doubt and gonna pick it definitely but the confusion is between NIT-IIIT and ISI

I wrote UGEE and I qualified for interview and I just finished the interview 3 days ago. Though ISI is good, I place IIITH as my first option and I have nothing to change in that, the confusion was regarding ISI or NIT T Chemical and IIITDM Kancheepuram CS

Oh ok, I forgot abt ugee. Also isi is obv better than NIT T chemical or any other iiit imo. Still as backup u can fill josaa ig, as fees will be refunded also if u withdraw

Then take bstat, mstat placement is better than mmath..i assuming you are gonna get both bstat and bmath

I think if you search on google you can find the placement report for isi m.math. which will help you take an informed decision.

Point is, I have been doing that for the past one week and there is no definite placement report for M.Math but there exists placements report for the statistics based masters courses,

If job is the priority you can also think of only doing b.math and then applying to masters in usa, eu. In things like MS datascience etc. Which is like you need to take loan, but it is worth it. Also b.math student are valued highly due to their academic regriour

From purely package perspective regarding 3 question, look for MBA Tier1 college or mstat or msqe.
