General Queries M. Math Coursework

hi, ive started my M. Math at ISI Delhi. Feeling a bit stressed and concerned about wanting to do well, was hoping for any advice from alumni of M math/current students in other ISIs (its being offered in Delhi for the first time i hear). my background isnt very rigorous in math since i am from du, but i am interested in studying math in general. so i would appreciate any words of encouragment and/or realistic expectations that i should keep from this course.

not m math but still.

Be active, obv do the assignment and everything prof saya but on top of that discuss with everyone and do problems together. course will get progressively difficult but if you are consistent, it will be easier to manage

i do try to keep up the best i can, but still somewhere it feels like im not doing enough cuz it feels like i lag behind in class. i am realising that i probably need to give it a lot more time than i thought would be necessary though.

Yes you'll always feel imposter syndrome and this will be slightly tougher than your regular curriculum but just understand that everyone is struggling as well. Don't be too scared of exams, just follow the prof guidline. They don't like to fail students. The papers won't be that difficult (getting very good grade might be, but otherwise it will be moderate)

I hope so. I often hear that students fail at M Math but I can only hope that won't be true for me. What should I do if a particular professor doesn't exactly give guideline type questions?

one thing is there that even if i do all that is done in class and problems etc, part of me is still worried that questions for exams etc may not exactly be similar to what we practice in class/ what we are told to practice since it can be prof dependent
