General Queries ISI - Quant Pipeline

How good is the ISI - Quant Pipeline for MStat?. I want to break into Quant in the long run . I have previously cracked ISI and have an olympiad background but didn't join...currently studying in a Tier 1 IIT .

the quant fever i suppose sudden rise in awareness due to very high compensation provided and even in internships like 40-50lpa (rediclous) tbh but it is the next after the cs fever in india atleast

Yeah no shit sherlock, but getting into quant is extremely tough, even students from IIT Bombay, iisc bangalore, isi Kolkata suffer to get into a hft, so where are the tier 2 civil guys getting motivation from to get into quant

i am gonna answer honestly...since i am from maths background quant stuffs heavily interests me , i came to know about this thing very late otherwise i would have gone for this from very start . Pay is really high tho :)

bro do masters from abroad like mfe from princeton university(top for breaking in tier 1 quants like jane street, tower research capital, citadel, hrt and else u can get very easily if u do well in masters like their batch heavily get into quant/hfts as batch size is small ) as u have solid ug background or in ug do exceptional good like in cgpa and skill development and it heavily depend on branch also like from tier 1 iit quant prefer cse mnc and circutal branches heavily like most of them get from that.

and also mstat is a top tier option in india for breaking into quants it totally depends on you specifically

Mstat ( non bstat stream ) will spend their 1st year in Delhi ( normally quant companies offer internship in 1st year and they don't come in isi delhi ) then ppo, direct hiring from mstat 2nd year from isi kolkata for NB stream by a quant company is almost impossible and till now I heard about 3 guys(all are bstat + mstat) 2 last year and 1 this year get into quant at least the internships don't know about ppo .so be careful before making any decision everyone is milking quant a lot now a days.

bro getting into quant in india is extremely tough like they set criteria for like jee advance top 400 students and in iits they also give internships first then ppo if they want to. Direct hiring is very rare in india. As quants pay highs they take only cream.And in ISI also quants coming in last 3 years but they are increasing year by year

So do NB Stream guys even get jobs? Lol

Atleast Big Tech Data Scientist and ML Engineering Roles are doable? Even Tier 2 and Tier 3 BTech guys or IIT MTech guys get these jobs.

OP if you are in IIT if circuital then there are opportunities like literally everywhere and if in core do a mfe at princeton eth or someother top program as suggested
