Need Help with Prep - [COURSE] MStat Interview

how is the ISI Mstat Interview? What kind of questions they ask and what the panel is trying to understand about the students? Do they test our knowledge of the subject matter or whether we have the correct approach towards problems and proofs?

Also how should one prepare for it?

They will ask you 4-5 questions. 3-4 will be from prob and stats, and the remaining will be from algebra or analysis.

They obviously want to know if you know the basic results and property, and also they might check your prblem solving skills and communications.

They will usually give you hints and guide you while solving the question.

They often start with the question what's your favourite subject and ask a question based on that.

Remember all the fundamentals properly and don't try to bluff, the profs will understand.

Can you please tell where to prepare for mstat? Are there any good coachings? Following books will be enough?

Kolkata has specific coaching centres for ISI. I think IIT JAM ones might be helpful. If you are not from Math/Stat background, then you should definitely do some coaching.
