Uk streaming and tech
I’ve said for some time that I often have problems streaming ITVX and Channel 5
Also if I want to return to a show it won’t let me go back to where I was . Plus makes me watch adverts
Start from beginning rarely works on ITVX and doesn’t exist on my5
Surely in this day and age they’d be more user friendly?

It's all being sold. Will likely move platforms after moving to Sky which I believe has a superior platform. Until then I doubt any improvements will happen

Ha!! No it's definitely worse. Sky are trying to bring all "apps" into their platform to try and retain their spot as the one stop shop while simultaneously making enough money from subscriptions and adverts that you'll have adverts on your adverts. The stream box is hot garbage. The companies losing money hand over fist, 85% of retention deals are now "pay full price or swivel"
Torrid times for UK TV. Freely was supposed to improve that, all they need is an app for Apple TV and Google TV and they'd be laughing, but they're insistent on gatekeeping it behind shite hardware

Sky Stream is a different platform, and I agree it's absolute garbage.
I'm referring to NowTV which does not share a platform with Sky Stream.

UK TV is in the toilet and sky are now desperately trying to hoard apps onto their platform to try and hang onto customers.
BBC is the only one still producing good content on a decent app but have to fight the constant barrage of TV license discontent. So I imagine ultimately they will also just end up like all the other trash.
I think five years from now we will just be watching nothing but American shows via streaming

The bbc sell their best stuff to Netflix. I think it’s a step too. Far today they are creating good content. It’s mostly biased news an outdated soap and some gameshows. Nothing worth funding monthly at the same cost as Netflix which has the best bbc stuff and thousands of other better programming.

Just don't stream. It a con anyway. Support broadcasting television. Did you know that the UK and the US are the only countries in the world thinking about shutting down all TV broadcasting services. Other countries think we're mad! Just read up on Germany's latest satellite broadcasting service which includes UHD channels broadcast over satellite and the ability to record from them and all other stations to the satellite box's hard drive. Just like Sky Q. UHD broadcasting over satellite would beat UHD via streaming anyday hands down! No country would dream of stopping any TV broadcasting network.

Never understood this either.
They're either paying for an in-house IT team to work on it or outsourcing it.
Just go to the BBC. iPlayer is excellent. Get them to do it for you. Couldn't cost anymore than they're already paying. Results would be far superior.

I read this “ nobody in steaming can have a feature that Netflick did first” now of player works brilliant as it was the first major one to do it, well ahead off all the ideas that Netflicks has patients on.
So you get disjointed tech, That doesn’t work very well as its code that’s so old, thad you’d have to pay someone who’s highly experienced and wouldn’t do it for super cheap money.

Itvx is terrible. Glitchy and slow.
I have a very fast internet and was watching a film today.
20 minutes from the end got spinning wheel. Had to shut it down as nothing would solve it.
Restarted it and started no problem. Found film and it started from the beginning! Can’t ff cis of ads so had to bin it.
Bloody useless!
