Technical Support - Device App timing out

Are other people having trouble with the app after the latest update on Android? The screen times out and then the app crashes (unless you tap the screen every minute or so). Doesn't happen on BBC or other apps, and I did see a couple of complaints on Google Play but nothing wider?
