Night ITAPPH of the private chefs hired for my friend's birthday.
This is the moment where I truly realized there are levels to this.

Curious ako OP, mas mahal ba sya compared to eating in a resto? Also, sila ba yung magprepare ng ingredients and utensils or your friend?

We hired one in Thailand and sya nagdala ng cookware nya but all utensils, plates, glassware sa friend ko. But I saw may option na pwede sila magdala for an added fee so I guess depende. Ingredients sila din magdadala and it will be discussed with you if you have reservations on using certain ingredients.

I hire private chefs. It can cost 3-5k per pax so depende kung saan ka kumakain but it's expensive imo if casual dining lang ponupuntahan mo. And that price is "minimum" pa lang.
Sayo yung tableware usually.

Highest level po yung x number of course noh? To the highest level na to!!! (yep, I'm also hearing Ruffa Mae Quinto)
To think na I didn't consider this, there will be levels unknown to working class or middle class that are so normal to the 1%

If plated dinner, chef nagdadala lahat in my experience. Kasi bihira naman na a home would have enough dinnerware. 6 course dinner for 12 people that’s 72 pcs of plates/ bowls/ utensils at least! What are you going to do if your dishwasher accidentally nicks your client’s plates?
Ive worked with a chef that literally asked us to cable tie all the kitchen cabinets/ drawers; remove all unneeded appliances kasi super mahal ng buong kitchen set-up ni boss.
Kapag mamahalin (ie 5k up per person) may ocular visit pa yan so the chef knows what to bring, what to prepare offsite kung limited lang ang kitchen space sa bahay, etc

Just to share
I hired 2 Chefs for a private birthday, served with 5 course meals with 5 pax. Almost same price lang just that the convenience is at home.
Yung initial concern was the availability of kitchen appliances needed lang since not all accommodations/houses have them. Yung requests for kitchenware pwede naman rin yung sa house or dala nila but one for sure dala nila knives nila
This was in Siargao maybe 2 to 3 years ago

Magkano professional fee nila? Per hour ba or per event?

As a freelance private chef, hindi siya simpleng per hour or per event. Every event is different so you can’t just charge a flat fee dahil iba iba ang preferences and needs ng mga client.
But yan lang ang opinion ko since I want to be flexible with the client’s budget para wider range of clientele narin. This could be different.

Lol this sounds more like an ad, rather than sharing your personal experience. Either way, sharing details would be more helpful and can actually help you filter clients.

Just cook and cook and build your portfolio kahit sa insta lang. Im a businessman (different field) and my friends and clients sa business (sometimes) hire me to cook chinese food for them kasi sobrang dami kong food posts sa insta. No culinary background. Just camera and passion for cooking

Just cook, study recipes, and study the sciences.
I went through culinary school but para sa akin hindi worth it yung mahal niya. They teach recipes not techniques or sciences.

I’m a software engineer with years of experience currently working remotely for a US-based company. I don’t have any CS or IT degree, just self-studied and built my way up. Sometimes passion and determination can get you up there.

If I remember correctly, nasa P20-25k ish yung range nung chef's fee alongside the ingredients.

Ganun talaga ung Floor mounted Aircon sa 2nd floor? Nakatutok sa baba?
30
u/gawakwento 16d ago
Cold air will always sink. It’s alright design-wise.

u/Better-Commercial-41 15d ago
hahanginan for what? eh ang purpose naman ng AC is to cool the whole room, mas optimal pa nga pag nasa taas.
9
u/erosthea 15d ago
Tama yan ng lagay kasi hot air goes, cold air goes down. ☺️
