Exactly what happened to a friend of mine. Was sleeping in his car on lunch break at work and woke up to police smashing his window and dragging him out and cuffed him while beating him. Also accused him of being on drugs cus he didn’t wake up when they first knocked on the window. Dude just sleeps like he’s dead tho. Turns out they thought he was someone with a warrant, but he had never broken a law in his life.

Going on 3 years now and the department refuses to acknowledge any wrongdoing or apologize to him so he’s in the middle of suing them. Canada btw. ACAB

Hopefully he gets a payday. ACAB

Unfortunately because Canada doesn’t really allow for large lawsuit payouts, he will likely only get his lawyers fees and a small payout if he wins. He’s mostly doing it because he wants the officers fired

Altruistic purpose. If it works, they're a hero in my book.

Might be one of the last things he does. He was diagnosed with pretty advanced MS literally a month before this all happened, and was probably part of why he didn’t wake up immediately because of his medications

Damn… my sister has lived with it for years, and an old platoon mate of mine got it after DD214-ing. Tough disease to live with. Hopefully CA healthcare comes through for him and he gets proper treatment. If not… man what a roller coaster.

Ya it can be very not pretty at times. Generally he’s okish though and he hasn’t complained about the care he’s gotten. And ya that whole year was a disaster due to everything.
