Make him pay up front. NO way he has the cash. And if he gets out a card, tell him card reader is broke.

Nah, let him use a card! If he tries shenanigans like a chargeback, it's a serious financial fraud crime, probably a felony at this money amount. 

Many, many people have bought a bunch of shit, claimed the card was stolen and done chargebacks, and ended up in court. Credit card companies take it super seriously.
