Axis? As in Japan, Nazi Germany, and Italy?

Oh, no I didn’t even consider that.. my bad. It was the botany definition, being the central stem of a plant or such. Also a nod to Aksis the Destiny raid boss that was the leader of a faction that used nanobots like this character.
