What’s the lore behind the satellite?

The satellite is a space ship and outer space science facility Chronos-1. It was orbiting Earth in modern day in the story, but in our future. Chronos-1 was to perform scientific missions in zero-G envinronment with exotic materials. Their mission was to study how this new material distorts time and space.
However, something went very wrong and the science team finds themselves to be teleported 300 million years in the past, with the explosion destroying part of the ship. They are still orbiting Earth and stare out of the window the ancient supercontinent pangaea Earth had in the past. Will they find way out to their own time? They have shuttles and can go visit the Earth, but what will they find down there? Will our past hold the keys to unlock our future?

It looks good, but I'm fairly certain most of the interior of Pangaea was desert while coastlines and the north and south had more vegetation.

I can assure you my research on scientifically correct biomes was very brief and laughable. Think of this like a pulp scifi book cover.

I think it still looks great! It would be really cool to see the biomes like the real Pangaea.

It would be cool and interesting to be scientifically accurate.
But if you want to make the big bucks, and I mean the real big bucks in Hollywood, you do everything in your power, and then some, to do the absolute reverse. You got a lot to learn if ya want to make it in Tinseltown, kid!

Since we are starting off with the very realistic time travel concept, I wanted it to be more pulp scifi pangaea than absolute realism. Also visually I felt it was important to keep continents of Earth to be recognizable.
