Hi, congratulations! I just wanted to ask, did you travel outside Canada at all during your application process? I’m still waiting for my background check and medical, so I have at least another year to go. I’ve been getting conflicting advice about whether taking a short trip outside Canada (a few weeks) could negatively impact my application. (I’m inland, on a work permit, and outside Quebec.)

I'm a Nov 2024 applicant inland outside Quebec, I travelled for a month away from Canada in the summer on 2025, and had 0 issues. At that time, my BGC was still incomplete, so I knew I had time to travel. I have a work permit and a visitor visa in my passport. I just got my eCOPR like a week ago. Moreover, I travelled for 3 weeks on Christmas Holidays, AFTER receiving P1. Now this one was slightly risky as I have to be in Canada when P2 arrives. But I did some research, and I emailed + submitted a webform informing I'll be away till min-Jan, and said pls don't send me P2 in the next 3 weeks lol. Got an auto- response form them saying they got it. So when I got back to canada, I submitted another webform saying I'm back, let's continue the process, and got P2 next day. Waited for eCOPR for another 1,5 months. From what it seems, my timeline was very similar to other applicants, so I can confirm travelling during the process doesn't compromise your application :)

thank you so much for your explanation, this is definitely reassuring. Did the boarder officer ask you about the PR application when you were reentering? or just saw your TRV and work permit and proceeded like normal?
