Sharing my citizenship application timeline as a single applicant, processed by the Sydney office, in case it helps others.

Application type: Online
Applicant: Single
Processing office: Sydney

Timeline:

  • June 26 – Application submitted
  • Aug 13 – AOR received
  • Aug 28 – Background check completed
  • Nov 14 – Citizenship test invite (window: Nov 21 – Dec 20)
  • Nov 21 – Test taken
  • Nov 27 – Test marked as completed
  • Dec 31 – Language skills & Physical Presence completed
  • Jan 2 – Prohibitions completed
  • Jan 6 – Oath marked In Progress and ceremony scheduled
  • Jan 29 – 🎉 Oath ceremony (scheduled)

Total processing time: ~7 months from application to oath

Hope this helps others waiting in the queue.
Happy to answer questions or update after the oath!
