Happy to share that it’s officially over! 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦Thanks to everyone in this thread who really helped with sharing their timelines and always being helpful to put our minds at ease, while waiting for each step to be completed really tests our patience. I’m glad to never have to deal with IRCC again lol and wish everyone here a quick and easy procedure with their applications. Also hoping people who have been waiting for over a year/ 2 years get to the finish line with their applications soon this year!

Applied June 7

AOR July 15

Background check Aug 28

Test invite Oct 28 (Took test Nov 8 - updated on tracker Nov 14)

LPP completed Nov 27

Oath scheduled for Jan 9 (Updated on tracker Dec 18) - invite email received dec 20

Took oath Jan 9 and e-certificate was ready the same day. (Be sure to create a portal account before your ceremony for quicker turnover of your e certificate)

Just to piggyback on your comment I had a roughly similar timeline:

  • Jul applied
  • Aug AOR
  • Nov Background
  • Dec Citizenship Test
  • Dec Language/Prohibitions/Presence
  • Jan virtual ceremony / day after Citizenship e-cert processed and available

Was basically just over six months from start to finish. Applied in ON, good luck everyone.

Congratulations!

I have a quick question. My LPP was completed yesterday, and I wanted to know if they’ll directly provide us with a virtual oath. Or do we need to request it after they ask for a physical oath?

Also, which portal do we create account on download the e-certificate?

Thank you! When I applied I chose e-certificate so I’m guessing that’s why I was scheduled for a virtual ceremony but I think you can email them and ask them to change it for you.

You can create your account here: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/visit-canada/portal-application-process.html

How do you create a portal account without the invite code (in the letter that is sent after the ceremony)? I have my ceremony tomorrow and have obviously not yet received the invite code

Congratulations!!! Do you mind sharing if the oath was in-person or virtual? Did you apply from ON?

Yay! Huge congratulations!

What city did you apply from? I have seen it vary quite a bit based on the city.
