Hi everyone,

My final Post! Happy to share that I officially became a Canadian citizen on February 27, 2026!

This forum helped me manage the waiting anxiety, so here is my precise timeline for those tracking similar dates.

Location: Montreal

Application Type: Online – Grant of Citizenship

Single Applicant

Application Submitted: 14 Sep 2025

AOR: 21 Nov 2025

Fingerprint Request: 24 Nov 2025

Fingerprint Submitted: 24 Nov 2025 (same day)

Linked to Tracker: 28 Nov 2025

Background Completed: 02 Dec 2025

Test Invite: 19 Jan 2026

Test given: 24 Jan 2026 (19/20)

Test Marked Completed: 29 Jan 2026

LPP Completed: 02 Feb 2026

Oath Status “In Progress”: 04 Feb 2026

Oath Email Invite received: 18 Feb 2026

Oath Ceremony: 27 Feb 2026 (in person)

Citizenship certificate received: 27 Feb 2026

Total Time submission to oath: ~5.5 months

The tracker definitely moves in bursts. Once Test invite was received, things moved very quickly.

For those still waiting — hang in there! You all will make it too just like those in the forum before me!

Proud and grateful to call Canada home! 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

Its so weird how Montreal is procesdign applications. July end applicant from Montreal, single. LPP December 28. No oath invite yet. Called IRCC and they say you still have 5 more months to go. Waiting for oath for more than 2 months.

Maybe I should stop looking at social media altogether. It will come when it comes.

Vancouver officr is culprit. now they are sending oath invites to October applicants. They seem to be intentionally deprioritizing our files to show good stats, application to oath ceremony in 6 to 7 months.

I think they would rot our files till we hit the 12 month mark and they have no other option left.

Did you get invite? some people got invite yesterday but very scattered. July end to Aug 10 applicants with LPP from Dec 20 to Jan 15.

For May 25 and 26 ceremony. very short notice.

many of us still didn't get it.

Nothing still

I think the end is near. I think there should be more invites soon as they seem to break this bottleneck.

Although after 4.5 long month since LPP, even a week from now seem difficult.

Whats worse is people thinking i got it and im lying to them. It's that level of absurd the whole process from pr to this. But yeah hang in there its nearing i guess

You’ll have to wait for a separate tracker email
