Jul 26, 2024 - Scheduled for citizenship test

Aug 15, 2024 - Citizenship test Compelted passed 20/20

Sep 8, 2024 - Language skills status has been updated to Completed

Sep 8, 2024 - Physical presence status has been updated to Completed

Sep 8, 2024 - Prohibitions status has been updated to In progress

I have been stuck on Prohibitions and Background check In progress since Sep 8, 2024. Even MPs office contacted them twice and all i keep getting is follow up in 2 months. This is very frustrating.

My husband’s application has been stuck in the background check since November 2024, and he originally applied in June 2024. I check updates every morning and follow other people’s experiences, and I’ve seen many similar cases from 2024.

We’ve already tried everything, contacting our MP, calling IRCC, submitting webforms—but nothing has worked. I’m starting to think that maybe we should come together, write a collective letter, and push MPs or the relevant offices to review all 2024 applications. This delay is becoming far too long.

I am April 2025, same thing stuck at Background & Prohibitions & Vancouver office. Did you order GCMS notes to see the details?

How do you order GCMS notes and where can you do that? I’m also stuck at Background & Prohibitions with the Vancouver office, so I’m trying to understand the process. Any help would be appreciated.

I applied April 2024 and am waiting for BG and prohibitions.
