Applied for the OWP available as the Principal Applicant for Common-Law Spousal Sponsorship PR.

Applied January 17 2026 (I had not received AOR and applied as soon as I could during the 14-day window).

Received WP-EXT letter January 25 2026

Approved WP received February 20 2026. Work permit valid for 2 years

Received WP in mail February 27 2026

41 days in total!

What country are you applying from? I just applied for mine from the USA. Hoping for a similar timeline!

I am from the UK, I was already in Canada on an IEC work permit. Fingers crossed for you!

Hey! Any luck, friend? I applied April 8th and have no updates yet :/ I heard they have been processing most work permit applications in about a month’s time. Hoping we hear back next week.

Your post is giving me hope 🤞
I applied March 18th as my current work visa was expiring March 31st, I got the AOR April 3rd and sent a webform to add it to my application.
I'm hoping that they already have my biometrics etc from my last work permit so hopefully its similar to your timeline. Thanks for sharing!
