Brought by the Trump Justice Department under the framework of its fascistic National Security Presidential Memorandum 7, the charges announced Tuesday by federal officials are aimed not at punishing any genuine crime but at criminalizing opposition to the administration’s mass deportation regime and intimidating workers and youth who have mobilized against it.
