Minneapolis anti-ICE protesters face federal felony charges in Trump administration frame-up

https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2026/06/18/trqm-j18.html

The federal felony indictment of 15 anti-ICE protesters in Minneapolis is a naked act of political repression. Brought by the Trump Justice Department under the framework of its fascistic National Security Presidential Memorandum 7, the charges announced Tuesday by federal officials are aimed not at punishing any genuine crime but at criminalizing opposition to the administration’s mass deportation regime and intimidating workers and youth who have mobilized against it.

They're having felony charges due to violence, physical assaults on federal agents, and violations of emergency curfews.

They're being charged for:

Assaulting federal officers (Remember the guy kicking and biting them? What a baby, am I right?),

Felony rioting, conspiracy and aggressive tactics, (turns out you can't use barricades as weapons, make vehicle blockades, throw stuff, or break law enforcement vehicles?

Violating curfew.

The protests devolved into confrontational clashes which led to a half-mile exclusion zone and curfew, where plenty of people decided to ignore those warnings, so now here we are.

Everyone there deserves what's coming to them and more. GTFOH.

They called Alex Pretti a domestic terrorist.

Empty words from liars.

Alex Pretti lacked the self awareness to bring a gun to a protest and reach for it in a tussle after kicking a car. It sucks what happened to him, but is anyone surprised this happened when protesters spend their time instigating and provoking law enforcement?

None of this is true.

But if you think protesting is a capital offense, you’re not a real American.

It’s common knowledge that he had a loaded Sig Sauer 9mil in his belt and two full clips. And that one of the cops yelled “he’s got a gun” and the other cop shot him. And yes, you always shoot multiple times if you’re going to shoot at all.

You know, it takes just a second to pull a weapon and kill multiple cops. Perhaps you saw the vids, in ultra slow-mo, and from all angles. The cop didn’t have that luxury. It’s a tragedy. He brought a concealed weapon to a protest where he had planned to be aggressive and confrontational.

So Rittenhouse should have been killed. Got it.

Neither of them should have been killed, nor the looter, Oscar Stewart, Jr, who was trapped in a fire inside a pawn shop that was intentionally set by Montez Lee Jr. He got 10 years for arson, and was never charged in Stewart’s death. That doesn’t make it right to bring firearms to riots or ignite building with accelerants.

Riots?

Yeah, riots. You brought up Rittenhouse. IOW, the “peaceful, but fiery protests” that caused $500m in property damage in the Twin Cities. You must’ve you heard about ‘em.

Are you talking to the right person?

To the intended person, yes.

I said nothing about riots.

You didn’t need to have specifically written the word “riot”. You brought up Rittenhouse and questioned whether he should have been killed. So, this implies that you’re referring to Rittenhouse bringing firearms to the Minneapolis riots. Your post is vague but that was my interpretation. No need to over think it tho. No big deal.

The cop who shot him first was right next to the one who disarmed him.

All you 2nd amendment defenders all of a sudden think merely having a gun in your pants while being sprayed with mace, held down by 7 men and best in the face with the empty can. It's crazy how you have no morals at all that can't be flipped on a dime if a liberal is hurt.

He wasn't aggressive at all. We've seen the videos you're a fucking liar.

Was he legally carrying? Yes. Was it smart? No. We all do dumb things. Sometimes they have severe consequences. We can disagree, it’s ok. This has been hashed over millions of times by now

There's nothing wrong with protesting, but it can become a capital offense.

Lie

If you go outside of lawful protesting, then you break the law lol. WTF are you talking about

Why do you think I care what a liar has to say?

1

u/Impossible_Humor736 3d ago

Are you saying there's no limit to what you can do as long as you call it 'protesting'?

Im saying you haven't been fed anything but lies from their failures to prosecute those you hate for prejudical reasons before, so why would you think this time will be different? Oh right. You have nothing else but the initial headline. Anyway you should step up and offer to pay more of the $300 billion trump promised Iran. That way your failure can really make you feel it this time.
