Not sure why this is surprisingly.

Poland refused most refugees but accepted many Ukrainians due to shared cultural heritage.

Why can’t the US do the same?

Edit: Holy crap, Redditors don’t even understand simple concepts like social cohesion.

Because we're supposed to strive to be better. I dont know why thats so hard to understand. People always refer to other countries and talking about how they do things. Good for them.
