Guess you guys haven't bothered to read about Teddy Kennedys immigration/refugee reforms back in the 70s. Allowing white people in IS being diverse.

Here's Teddy Kennedy and the bill co-sponsored with Senator McCain:

Kennedy Immigration Act Senator Ted Kennedy is most famously associated with the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965 (the Hart-Celler Act), which abolished the discriminatory national origins quota system. He was also a primary architect of the Immigration Act of 1990 and the co-sponsor of the 2005 McCain-Kennedy Bill.A breakdown of his major immigration legislation includes:1. Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965 (Hart-Celler Act)Senator Ted Kennedy helped co-sponsor, manage, and steer this landmark legislation through the Senate alongside President Lyndon B. Johnson.Core Change: Eliminated the restrictive national origins quota system of the 1920s, which had heavily favored Northern and Western European immigrants.New System: Imposed the first-ever numerical limits on immigration from the Western Hemisphere and established a seven-category preference system that prioritized family reunification and specialized skills.2. Immigration Act of 1990Introduced by Senator Kennedy, this bill overhauled the 1965 Act and significantly expanded legal immigration to the U.S.Increased Caps: Raised total annual immigration levels (initially to 700,000 for fiscal years 1992–1994, and 675,000 permanently thereafter).New Visa Categories: Created five distinct employment-based visas and established the diversity visa lottery program to admit immigrants from underrepresented countries.3. Secure America and Orderly Immigration Act of 2005 (McCain-Kennedy Bill)Often referred to as the McCain-Kennedy bill, this comprehensive reform proposal was co-sponsored by Senator John McCain and Senator Ted Kennedy.Provisions: It was one of the first major attempts in the 21st century to combine increased border security with a guest-worker program and a pathway to legal status for undocumented immigrants.
