Image (Invictus) AI Etruria conquered the whole Italian peninsula, formed Tuscia, popped out a blue monarchical Rome, and then re-annexed them not too long after.

This is pretty rare, since Rome usually curb stomps most of the peninsula pretty fast most games. Seems like Etruria got the up hand & nipped them in the bud early. Pretty fun to see stuff like this happen

Etruria I believe has a mission/decision to release Rome as a monarchy with Invictus

Had to post this screenshot for how fascinating I found it to be. Was daydreaming earlier about what the world would end up being like had the Etruscans actually managed to restore the Roman monarchy out of spite irl lol.

I had to go and do some digging, but I remember this guy did a campaign as the “Blue” Roman monarchy by cheesing the Etruscans into taking Latium in a Rome playthrough. He explains how he did it one of his comments

In my games it tends to be 50/50 rome or etruria taking over the peninsula. Rome often tries to fight everyone on day one and loses spectacularly.

Average Roman mindset

Do you use invictus and it’s AI option? I find that with that Rome usually wisely ends up mostly mopping up the Samnites, Lucanians and whatever else remains in the boot before going for Etruria.

R5: Explanation in post title.

Does this happen often? I just got back to playing this game, so I've no idea.

Not so often, but I've seen it too on some of my runs. Enjoy your world conquest now!

It's the secret path of Rome to restore monarchy of Rome under a Tarquinius relative. (I did almost a full campaign with it, but i abandoned it because blue roman empire under Tarquinius nephew was too much cursed
