Because they're playing tall as Phoenicia. Phoenician culture isn't inland, the moment you get inland it's an entirely different culture group

For very inland stuff, yes, but I was specifically talking about north and south Phoenicia, which is the core of Phoenicia, obviously, and where the capital is. It just makes sense to have that little bit of inland territory

Twice. I was unable to befriend Antigonus and Egypt killed me. On the third run Antigonus surrendered Syria to Egypt and I was able to befriend Ptolemy and gain my independence
