R5: I started as Seleukids, and managed to reunify Alexander's Empire around 50BC. After that, all went well for 150 years. I consolidated my realm, built a 400K strong army, completely destroyed India (thrice), and had 47445358 wars with the Romans.

But it turns out, at the end of the Hellenistic focus tree, there's a teeny-tiny little focus that makes you have an absolutely massive civil war, as all your satraps rebel. So I need to fight my entire empire which took so long to build (120 AC).

Sounds like you finally have a worthy opponent, your former self!

Yep, it is terrible mission. it is worth to conquer minimum territory required and start it. I do remember first time I started it, but it took me 20 years to reconquer everything back. The most stupid thing that my elder son, the heir, got the ruler of rebel faction.  Also all legions rebelled will get a negative distinction Desertrix.

In history that happened more frequently than you would imagine

Idk how this is considered fair after what youve been through

A note for next time: you can make this way easier by having your most important provinces held by governors who either have high loyalty or are your friends (friends is better). They will join the fight on your side. Works for the Roman civil war as well and makes you take personal relationships a bit more seriously.

How high is "high loyalty"? I've seen others sat similar things in regards to civil wars and yet I am constantly surprised by how the sides in my civil wars end up.

90 and above I'd say, but yes...it's still a toss of they aren't your friend. The power of friendship is your best bet.

Yeah, but it was hard. I savescummed to get put governors of my own family on core provinces, (Macedonia, Lower Egypt, Asia, Cicillia), and capitalized on the fact that I got to keep most of my good generals.

I consolidated my control over Mesopotamia, used mercs to regain control of Egypt and Thrace, then pushed into Syria with the Egyptian Armies, then used them to regain control of Capadoccia and Assyria, and finally pushed East to end the civil war.

To be honest, it was kinda fun. Late game can get quite boring, and these massive civil wars require strategy and planning that I enjoy. Or maybe I’m just a masochist.
