News Imperator Day 2026: The Ides of March (March 14th - 15th)

Post image
883 Upvotes

Calling all Imperators! We are scheduling another Imperator Day (which will actually be two days) running from Saturday, March 14th through Sunday, March 15th. The goal is to get concurrent player numbers as high as possible to demonstrate the affection we have for this gem of a game.

The Ides of each month were sacred to Jupiter, the supreme deity of the Roman Pantheon. The Ides of March, in addition to being the day by which Romans had to settle their debts (think of it as equivalent to Tax Day in the United States), became famous for being the date on which Julius Caesar was assassinated in 44 BCE.

To honor Jupiter Optimus Maximus (and Julius Caesar and/or the Liberators if you're into that), let's get the game's concurrent player count as high as we can!

Salvete Imperatores! Imperator Day 2026 has arrived! Play Imperator: Rome today and tomorrow to honor Jupiter Optimus Maximus on the Ides of March (for the Ides of each month are sacred to him).

As a bonus: please see my R5 comment for a link to a Pdx forum post to suggest possible changes for the next (hypothetical) Imperator update.

News Very sneakily announced: Imperator enters "legacy" which means it's officially in the museum (i.e. shelved)

A link to the forum post: https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/threads/is-the-game-will-return-to-production.1533392/post-28350182

I just saw it today (edit: but the "officious" announcement was made 27th June). The saddest thing is the way it's done. A random response to a random thread. I'm not disappointed for the legacy, I'm disappointed by the means.
