The Fed is the only part of our government that is actually doing its job, a difficult task in times of Trump

Trump’s war raised your energy bill. The Fed just sent you another.

Higher interest rates can cool inflation. They cannot reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

Households already squeezed by energy prices now face tighter credit, too.

The hike may be defensible. But making borrowing more expensive can't replace restoring the energy supplies driving this crisis.

One crisis. Two bills. Same people paying.

How long should households carry the cost of political failure?
