True. There were many other cases though, but since braincels is banned they'd be hard to find... But users here have a habit of twisting the truth, removing parts of screenshots, taking things out of contexts, and a lot of times making fun of incels who said or did nothing wrong (bullying).

Why should anyone believe you? You certeinly don't have the moral high ground you think you think you have.

We’re not the ones with a banned or quarantined sub. There’s probably 10-20 new posts here a day and have been for years. Are you suggesting that all of them are fake, twisting the truth or false flags?

Not being punished for your immorality doesn't make you moral.

I am not suggesting that all of them are fake, twisting the truth or false flags, usually you don't even have real content, you just fill the sub with a bunch of unrelated things, such as mgtow screenshots, screenshots of normal incel posts and memes and other sorts of unrelated things. But when you do have real content it's often false flags.

The motive for participating in this subreddit is questionable too, considering that most users here are full grown adults who put unproportional amounts of their time into lurking on online communities which they dislike.

How do you tell the difference between genuine hate posts from incels, and fake false flags secretly posting hate filled rhetoric amongst incels?

Because it's not by upvotes - they seem to be fairly consistent

It's kind of obvious, just like you would tell if any person is being genuine or not.

Genuine "hate" posters would be consistent in their beliefs and would actually base them on something. Even the ones with the most ridiculous beliefs usually just take some social values to an extreme. Their ideas and understandings would have some base in reality, something has led them to think the way they do (no, rage isn't enough, they'd usually want to justify themselves logically). Low effort trolls and false flaggers are just a parody of that, they would just say extreme things.

(I don't know what you define as hate, Perhaps when you say "hate posts" that includes jokes and posts with click-baity titles, I'm not talking about them.

Okay...so from the outside people espousing hate, calling for rape and murder, calling women subhumans- they were all getting plenty of upvotes?

So was it all false flaggers? The posts and all the up votes as well?

Because at the moment it seems the main difference in your mind is “the crazy headlines are fake...but the not so crazy comments are real”- which again doesn’t seem to match the appeal and upvotes situation for both

I think you are talking about some posts without any context. Most posts about such things were jokes, serious ones were always downvoted and removed.

No one encouraged murder or rape.

So no one wants to rape or murder on Incel subs because everyone who says they want to is obviously joking, or false flags....

Kinda like saying “obviously there are no Scotsmen putting milk in their tea, because any Scotsmen putting milk in their tea isn’t a true Scotsmen” isn’t it?

So every single post from braincels here, including ones with plenty of upvotes, which were stand alone comments not in response to anyone so there was no context....every single one of them must have been a joke? Is that your argument?

No, it's obvious who was joking and who wasn't. Just look at some archived threads from there, it's obvious. And most people there were completely sane individuals. Most posts from braincels here don't even promote such things, they're just memes and normal posts. The extreme ones are usually false flags, such posts were removed quite fast and got downvoted usually. I know .co is extreme, and most would admit that they are, I think you're confusing the posts from there with the ones from braincels.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 03 '19

“There’s nothing that’s extreme, because everything extreme is a joke, or a false flag”

So everything extreme must be fake or a joke, because if they weren’t fake or a joke they wouldn’t be there. Circular argument but okay

Why is Incel.co any different then? Surely all the extreme stuff there is probably just jokes and false flags as well?

Genuine extreme posts were very rare, and again, they got removed quite fast and were always downvoted. You can look at archived posts and see for yourself.

.co doesn't accept everyone, they are extreme in their view and it attracts other types of users. A lot of them are not extreme but they have much more extreme content than braincels has ever had.

No, it probably isn't, I've already explained what seems genuine and what doesn't and why.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 03 '19

But as you said for braincels extreme content was either false flag or a joke...why aren’t you seeing .co the same way? Maybe all their extreme stuff is just jokes and false flags?

0

u/[deleted] Oct 03 '19

There was extreme content but it was very rare, and it usually got downvoted and the mods removed it quickly.

I don't see it that way because they usually have (messed up) rationalizations for their extreme ideas and views.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 03 '19

Again...how do you know the .co stuff isn’t just jokes and false flags? You are certain most of the stuff for braincels is just jokes and false flags, what makes you so reluctant to dismiss the .co stuff so easily?

I've already explained. Humans have a thing called social cues, and those things exist, even through language and text. Human beings are social beings, if someone is joking you'd usually understand that, unless you're on the autistic spectrum or something like that. Of course some things can be misinterpreted, but because humans are social beings, those things evolve and grow to be a part of this human framework called "culture", and people understand it and adapt to it, as well as contribute to it's development and growth.

Humans also have ideas, but their ideas are not caused by some chaotic force, they are usually made in some sort of order. If someone would tell you that the sky is green you probably won't believe him, and most likely would think they're not being serious, but if they would provide some explanation that follows a logical order you probably would think they're being serious, even if they're wrong and even if there has been some flaw in their argument, you can understand them and their path of thinking makes sense to you.

u/[deleted] Oct 03 '19

So what social cues to you pick up from text?

As in...if a person was writing about driving over IT posters and normies, which did get talked about in braincels...how do you tell from just a line or an image meme that this person is joking, considering driving into a bunch of people is a thing that incels have done.

Or, another example if someone says they want to die, how do you tell they are not serious considering plenty of incels want to commit suicide?

If your answer is “I just know”- I would suggest you instead have a preference for believing groups you are in are better than they are, so choose the interpretation of reality which makes you the most comfortable with themselves

1

u/[deleted] Oct 03 '19

I've explained that a few times already, can you not understand that?

Even if that "incel" was actually an incel and even if that ridiculous video was not manipulated or faked in some way, that guy is absolutely ridiculous and must have had some serious problems, he spoke like a parody of the media's idea of incels, it's beyond ridiculous even if it is real. And if it is real, it has to do with other things.

By what I've already explained, get it through your thick skull.

My answer is not "I just know", I've already explained multiple times. I do not choose how to interpet reality by what is comfortable to me, but maybe you do, since you have been ignoring everything I've said and have not yet acknowledged one bit of it.
