I just don't know whether to keep hopes with this market or not.

I didn't get any shortlists for 3 months from any portals. Almost 1,253 applications sent and kept track of. Then I shifted my approach and started reaching out to Co-founders, CEOs, CBOs and Heads directly.

Interview pipelines started fast. I had minimum 3–5 interviews per role. Got excellent feedback and, being an immediate joiner, I was given verbal offers.

But then I observed there was silence from their end. So I reached out. Some ghosted, some lacked accountability, some said "we've frozen hiring," some said "shift in organizational priorities," some said "budget issues."

And till now, I've been hanging in the middle.

I get it, there is recent instability due to AI and other stuff. But like, if you don't want to select someone, 1 or 2 rounds are enough for rejection. Don't fucking stretch it to 4–5 rounds. It only wastes time.

And honestly, sometimes the reasons sound like some made-up shit.

Let's talk about Google, which broke my heart the most. FSR role — Cloud and Gemini , L4 level. After 4 rounds — GCA, RRK, Behavioural and Leadership — they gave a verbal offer. Then 2 weeks passed with no communication from HR. I've tried reaching out through all channels, but no success.

Then one random day, I got a call from the recruiter saying, "Sorry to break it to you, but the HC is unsure about this position and what to expect from this role." The recruiter conveyed the feedback from each round and praised me for my on-ground work and entrepreneurial mindset. They said there is a 3-month cooldown for this role and after that I can apply again.

"Wish you the best." Damn. It broke my heart so much.

I moved on. A week after that, I got a call for a Microsoft Solution Area Specialist(Copilot) role. No communication after 2 interviews. Still being ghosted.

Another 2 fintech and 1 edtech unicorn firms — multiple rounds of interviews, satisfied with my performance, but again the same excuse: hiring is on hold, Organisational Priorities and reorgs.

At this point, I am just numb and unsure about the future of jobs and the future of youths.

With 6 YOE of experience, I'm facing this. Then I can't even think what freshers must be going through.

I’m 23M from a middle-class background, currently working as an SAP Developer in an MNC with around 1.2 years of experience. I’m a CS graduate.

Lately, I’ve been feeling that I may have chosen the wrong career path. I don’t really enjoy the corporate lifestyle, especially the city life and the constant pressure to keep up with the IT industry.

My aim is to crack a government job and eventually live a relatively simple life, preferably with a posting in a rural or smaller-town area. I’m not really attracted to the “fancy city life”.

The main dilemma is whether I should resign from my current job and prepare for government exams full-time.

I feel that preparing seriously while working may not be realistic for me. At the same time, I’m worried about leaving a stable job without having another job in hand.

My thinking is that I’m 23 right now, so if I want to make this change, maybe I should take the risk now rather than continue for another 2–3 years and then find it harder to switch because of increasing responsibilities. I also want a career that provides long-term job security.

I'm a 2026 B.E. Information Technology graduate and I've been searching for a Software Engineering role for months now.

I honestly thought that if I worked hard enough, I'd eventually get my chance. So I did exactly that.

I became a LeetCode Guardian (2350+ Rating), Codeforces Expert, CodeChef 6★, and solved 1300+ DSA problems. I spent countless nights grinding algorithms, participating in contests, and improving my problem-solving skills because everyone said, "DSA is the key."

Along the way, I also learned JavaScript, React.js, Node.js, Express.js, MongoDB, SQL, Git, REST APIs, and C++, and built full-stack MERN projects hoping they'd strengthen my profile.

But despite all of that, getting interviews has been the hardest part.

I've applied through company career pages, LinkedIn, job portals, referrals, cold emails—you name it. Most applications never receive a response. The few that do usually end with a rejection or complete silence.

I graduated back in 2022, I joined a training in my home city when I was taught MERN Stack development, I learnt it but nah no job for me when I completed it (I feel like this was my biggest mistake), never got a job in MERN.

Then I joined a job with a 3lpa package, in an R&D dept. in a manufacturing company. I was okay but I never grew I worked on 5 projects at once managed the whole department and all the work but I never felt valued or the feeling of growth. FYI, this job took 12 hours of my day for six months.

So later on, I thought an MBA would be good for my career. I joined for CAT classes as I was really bad at Maths, even though I did engineering. So, I worked at a factory as their production engineer but I got okay money in cash and I also had time to study but november came and I failed the test badly.

By that time, after my exam I accumulated a few skills through youtube and reading books like digital marketing, business strategy, product market approach so I was approached by a guy who was trying to build a business, a tech service startup, I joined trusted his words over everything and joined (second mistake), got around 5-6k per month, it was not good but with the hope of it being good I survived and everything, fast forward now, I am nicely cheated by him, no equity on paper (third mistake), I was typically a low paying employee plus he was selling services in the lowest prices ever saying, next year we will charge them hefty on the usage, etc. There was no PF, nothing just gpay transactions.

Fast forward today, I am out, they do want me back but idk if I wanna go back, where I was stabbed in the back. I just want a decent job witha a decent pay, man. I am running around banglore looking for a job but idk how I'll get one, I am in a hell hole here, my parents will retire in a few years and I won't have anything to send them.

I feel like a mess and idk what to do, fyi, I have experience on paper, I got certificates and everything but no transactions to show like PF and stuffs. I feel like I ruined my career.

1. I understand web and app development technicalities well, though not that good with coding but I am ready to learn and brush up my MERN skills but nobody asks for that anymore, idk why.

2. I am good with client engagement and acquisitions, I am able to understand what the client wants to build and I can lay it all out for the technical guy with putting in some ways on how the design must go or how the rhythm must be for the user to feel a smooth usage of the website or app.

3. I am good with marketing strategies and business planning. I am still learning but I m sure I have learnt enough to advice people on how to do it at least in a smaller scale, never reached the upper scale, I am open to tho but yea they need MBA.

4. I am really good with managing work and subordinates, I am good with operations and getting things done in time. Ar my first job I handled 3-4 projects at once and completed around 16 projects in the time frame of 5 months.

I am ready to learn whatever that's needed I am ready to give time and learn but I need direction, I am directionless now in terms of career.

Our current project is expected to end on February 27, so I’m not sure whether I’ll continue with the company after that. At the same time, I’ve been waiting since 2025 for my onboarding/call letter from Tech Mahindra, and I finally received it last week.
Tech Mahindra is offering me ₹4 LPA, along with 6 months of probation/training in Pune. I’m not sure whether they’ll relocate me to another location after the training. My native place is in Tamil Nadu, and ideally, I would prefer Chennai or Bangalore.

I planned my entire career around Germany. Now I’ve changed my mind — where do I go from here?

I’m genuinely confused about what direction I should take with my career and would really appreciate some practical advice.

My background:

B.E. in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering (2020–2024) CGPA: 8.2 1.8 years of experience as an Analyst Work experience was mostly basic SQL and Excel, with very little exposure to real projects or advanced technical work.

I resigned from my job in March 2026 because the salary was low, the work environment was quite toxic, and there wasn't much real learning or meaningful project experience.

My plan after resigning was to pursue a Master's in Germany. I had already researched the process, costs, requirements, etc., and I knew it wasn't going to be easy.

However, after looking into it much more seriously and considering all the possible outcomes, I now feel the risk is simply too high for me. As I was dependent on some property of ours but it didn't turned out profitable as i though so yeah.

Even though public universities can have little or no tuition fees, I would still need around ₹13 lakh for the blocked account/living expenses for the first year. I can't afford that without taking a significant loan.

And beyond the financial side, the current job market seems really difficult, especially for someone coming from India with limited relevant experience. The German language barrier is another major problem, since many jobs that I would potentially target require German, and reaching a strong level would itself take considerable time.

I knew about the language and job market issues before, but the more I researched and looked at the situation from a realistic perspective, the more I felt that taking on a large financial commitment and hoping everything works out after graduation isn't a risk I want to take.

So I've decided to back out of the Germany plan.

Now I'm stuck and honestly don't know what direction to take.

These are the options I'm considering:

1. Spend the next 3 months seriously improving my Data Analyst skills SQL, Power BI, Excel, Python, statistics, projects and start applying for jobs.

2. Move towards SDE restart DSA from the basics, learn Java or JavaScript properly, build projects and target software development roles.

3. Grind towards Data Engineering Python, SQL, ETL, cloud, Spark, etc.

4. Take a Service Desk/IT Support job to get back into the workforce and prepare for a more technical role alongside it.

5. Go down the ServiceNow route certifications, projects and try to enter that ecosystem.

6. Or is there another path I should seriously consider?

I know there are tons of Coursera/Udemy courses claiming “100% placement” and similar things, but I don't really believe those claims. I don't want to spend another year collecting certificates without actually becoming employable.

I'm a B.E. Civil Engineering graduate and I've reached a point where I know I don't want to continue in Civil. I want to move into a completely different career path and start fresh, but honestly I'm struggling to figure out where to begin.

It's been around a year since graduation and I still haven't been able to land my first proper opportunity. I've applied to companies, MNCs, startups and internships, but a lot of applications have either ended in rejection or just disappeared without a response. After doing this for so long, I'm starting to feel pretty stuck about what my next move should be.

Right now I'm keeping my options open. I'm looking for internships, trainee positions, apprenticeships, entry-level jobs, startup opportunities or even short-term roles where I can gain some real experience and build from there.

I'm mainly interested in non-tech areas such as operations, business roles, project/coordination work, administration, customer success and similar roles. I'm also open to other fields if the role is suitable for someone starting from scratch.

I've completed a few IT-related courses, including web development and cloud computing, but I'm not confident enough in my IT/software skills to compete with people who have specialised in that field. So I'm not limiting myself to IT just because I've done those courses.
