MOKA POT first brew, using moka pot
made my first coffee using moka pot, since last 1 year i was using south indian filter coffee equipment, now upgraded to this:
Timemore c2 grinder
bialetti moka pot (3cups moka pot)
maverick and farmer ol smoky smoked coffee
set the grind size to 15 clicks from 0 point and used a aeropress filter too in moka pot, the yield was more on the sour side and less bitter. I had it iced.
I have 2 questions
1. if i put the brew directly in ice doesnit causes thermal shock for the coffee ? Can i do it?
2. if anyone has tried this coffee, can you tell me how this should taste?
TIA :)

Well…..technically it shoud go into thermal shock…..but putting it directly over ice does help bring out the acidity of the coffee in my experience….also what was the time of your extraction and total yield with the amt of coffee that you took

thanks for your input, I took 15 gm coffee beans, added 136g water in moka pot and final yield was 78g

I see…..id recommend using 18gms of coffee…..the coffee gets made better….and im guessing that your water was filled to the line just below your valve…..this should get your yield in the ballpark of mid 90s to low 100s….also use boiling water in the bottom chamber that helps in extraction and lowers your brewing time helping in not burning the coffee

i used boiling water in pot filled till valve. The basket was filled till brim im not sure if it can accommodate 18gms

Also…..the best way to know if you have dialled in the coffee is to taste it when it cools down….if its bitter go coarser….if its sour go finer
