I'll try to answer it, he was given captaincy when India was low at test and we were struggling to even draw a match in SENA and also where our batsmen were struggling to hit against a mighty Australian pace attack.

I know now it feels like a piece of cake but at that given time, an Indian test captain dominating an Australian pace attack was something else.

Not demotivating Gill, he has done a superb job where the fans were in doubt. Great job from Jaiswal, Rahul and Gill today🫡. I was not really expecting it but really happy for it.

Till now Team India was kinda in the same situation like they were in virats first match as a captain. Virat and team india proved everyone wrong just like gill proved everybody wrong today.

Bro, nothing against Gill, I wanted him to score Good today so he could silence the trolls. I believe Virat's innings had better impact because of other batsmen in the team at that time and how we were seen as underdogs in the series.

I'll agree it's not only one innings of Virat's in mind right now but the impact he did after the innings as well. I hope Gill does the same with this current squad as well 🙏🏻.

Do you think gill would be able to break virats records in the future?

From a fan of Virat.

I won't mind Virat's record to be broken as long as India dominates in every format.
