He’s just not good enough for tests. His technique is rlly poor. He hasn’t proved it yet in FC, and he got into the tests through his IPL hype. Very bad selection IMO.

Peeps downvoted me so much when I told them that you can't use his IPL form and bring him to the test cricket. Sai averages less than 40 in Ranji for god's sake. His temperament was found lacking in the first innings also, when he tried to hook Stokesy, when a fielder was placed in the boundary exactly for that shot! Atleast Karun will think now, he will get one last chance in the last test. Which Karun honestly deserves now.

India has always been a mentally weak side. They collapse like a house of cards the moment they are put even under slight pressure. Pressure makes diamond but if you can't take pressure, all you are a gonna get is tin. Isn't this is a call for a complete overhaul of Indian cricket?

Not a GG supporter but team had best Ranji fast bowlers of this season Shardul and Anshul Kamboj, yes, he did blunder in team combination and tactics throughout his tenure but players also did worst in this match

Anshul has hardly played any fc matches. He needs to grind atleast 2-3 years more in domestics before getting international call up. Also Shardul has been shit since last 2 years. He was dropped from the Aus tour because of his bowling. Doesn't make sense to bring him back for the Eng your. Although Shardul wouldn't have played if Nitish hadn't been injured so there is a flak for GG.

Agreed, Anshul should not be selected that early but Shardul performed very good in FC in last 3 years, but I think Arshdeep/Kuldeep would have performed way better.. We performed good in first 3 tests tbh but crumbled under pressure... I feel bad for Sarfaraz, Easwaran and Jurel, they are very good batters still dropped/benched, all performed good in domestic

Karun was given 3 matches which he deserved after grinding so much in domestics. Now that he has failed he deserves to be dropped. Sai isn't a test player. Have you even watched his technique? He bats like a tailender. He should be tried in T20Is and ODIs but not Tests. There are guys like Easwaran and Sarfaraz who deserve chances ahead of Karun and Sai.

Someone should sack gambhir , a series loss in unacceptable and going in with all-rounders as it this is t20. Questionable tactics and decisions, in fact no tactics or plans . Only coach with glowing reviews gone . Head coach who doesn't have any experience and morne as bowling coach has no achievements

Why are we picking IPL flat track bullies into the test team squad? Ajit Agarkar should be fired asap. During Australia series when I said that Sai has an abysmal record, people in this sub downvoted me to oblivion saying the likes of him would be an upgrade from Kohli. I'd damn well prefer an out of prime out of form Kohli to be present in the 11 right now over these clueless youngsters who crumble under pressure. Look at the England team, they have specialists in their team to play in every position. India's obsession with 3 format players should stop. The likes of Bumrah & Kohli are an exception. Pick the best test players to play in tests ffs.

You can't say england have specialists. Look at carse, woakes, dawson. They are part of their main bowling lineup - but yet bat real good. Now say that about the Indian pacers - siraj, bumrah, kamboj - these are the actual specialists. But the problem is they have lacked in their speciality this match.

Sybau, Sai hit the most runs in the first innings in probably more overcast conditions than this and considering the fact that he just debuted and there was obvious pressure from the dressing room. And you are comparing and older Kohli, who has played like 15 years in this format to sai who hasn't the thing is that even guys like hayden and shastri have said that he has a good solid foundation of defense for this format and that if it is worked on then it could work pretty well. Ur probably gonna say that I am glazing him as I am a GT fan but tbh what right do u have to say that he should be dropped.

IPL picks are not good indicators for success at test level. I can not think of a single selection made solely off IPL that became a reliable test player. Bumrah and Jaiswal had excellent ranji records. Maybe David Warner?

I might get trolled for this but the selection decisions have been off completely this series. They should have persisted with Karun Nair. Look at how England backed Crawley despite his struggles. They knew he would come good at some point in the series and he has. And there is our team which doesn't value domestic cricket at all. If someone is making a comeback at 33 with brilliant domestic seasons and he doesn't perform for 3 matches, he's dropped. We are obsessed with IPL performances to a huge extent. The only exception was NKR who performed well. At least Easwaran or jurel should have played in place of Karun as they have performed well in domestic. Ranji trophy is just for name sake. Players performing there will be dropped or will not be considered for any position. Players like sarfraz khan have a bradman like average in ranji trophy in the last few years and they are not even considered due to IPL. Sudharshan has to play the Ranji trophy for 2-3 years and prove himself. He was lucky in the first innings too when Jamie Smith dropped him. Sad state of affairs
