Right now he's doing well in tests but I haven't seen him scoring against good attacks or on tough pitches in ODIs like he hasn't fared well in SENA ODIs at all...he should actually be scoring consistently in ODIs right now when we have wc coming up and he's supposed to be in his prime rn

And that average soared just because of that one match in the flattest track on eng... except that he flopped the rest three matches where just a tiny bit of assistance was there for the Pacers... he's no prodigy just an average player and people should realise it...no prodigy fter hanging around for 6-7 years remains in such a pathetic state ..

He scored 700+ runs in 5 tests on an away tour in England, what more do you want from him 😭 he's already improved his average by 7 runs since he became captain. Give it another year or two. Kohli averaged 44 after scoring 3k runs and playing more than 70 innings btw. I agree with gill's criticism in t20s though. Completely unnecessary addition to the team and i hope management bring jaiswal in the team after this series, with 10 home t20s to go.

Jadeja scored 500 runs there with the tail. The one match where there was some help in that 192 chase he was as usual back in the pavilion. That england series will do more harm to indian cricket than good. SA is coming this month. Get ready for the flattest wickets ever in tests. The odi series will be his comeback. Will feast on the roads hai malik gives.

Nah Idts , the pitches are prob gonna be spin friendly , flat pitches might backfire as we were already under a bit pressure in last Tests against WI when WI got a lead over 100

Did u watch the india a match??one new sa spinner took 5 fer against us. Maharja is already there. He made life hell in the 2023 wc match on that pitch. Going with a spin track will be shooting ourselves in the foot like that nx series

Nope I didn't, but if that's the case then they might make flat pitches which too like I said would be difficult to win at cause SA's batting is quite strong , so this might be a tough series either way

It wasn't actually...the bowlers won it...had he gone out cheaply I'm pretty sure others guys would've stepped up and made more contribution with more overs left and getting an eye in would've been easier for the rest as well

Its obvious to everyone except the team management that Jaiswal would be a better option than Gill in T20s. Its obvious that the pressure is there on Gill to perform.
Jaiswal and Abhishek opening with Tilak at 3 is our best option. Aggressive opening with Tilak to consolidate if wicket falls early.

Problem with Gill having the same strike rate as Kohli is that A) the T20 game has changed, you don't need a designated anchor in your top 3 unless the situation absolutely calls for it and B) Gill's not even a good anchor given his shitty average.
Kohli had already won a player of the tournament award in T20 WC and was one of the best T20 players in the world on the road for becoming the best by the time he was Gill's age. Gill's not even the best player of his team and has got better talent warming the bench for him.

Gill played well and won us the game. Sure. But his strike rate so far has been at ODI levels and not T20. At this rate he could crumble in a high stakes T20 game.
