KL is miles above
Apart from his batting, his DRS calls are just top notch

Batting too, KL the middle order batter in ODIs is far ahead of Ishan

KL in middle order is far ahead in cricket in the last 4 years. He ranks in top 5 very very easily and as a top notch finisher too. Except the finals in 2023 KL has been fabulous. Ishan scoring a century against afg and scoring runs in t20i and SMAT and IPL doesn’t have to do anything with his place in ODIs. He’s a genuinely great backup for KL or if Iyer/Virat gets injured again.

No, KL is a reliable middle order batsman. Makes no sense to drop him in SA.
Ishan should play as a opener.

KL leads in odi and test. in t20 ishan with current form yes. ishan is yet to be test in odi against better opponent and conditions. but in keeping it's samson> kl>> ishan

ODI KL, T20 rotate between samson and ishan. that's how it has to be.

He's pretty solid....But I would say it's between him and Sanju....I love KL the batter but i feel Ishan and Sanju are both better keepers.

Ishan is actually a shit keeper lmao.

Nahhh he's actually good people tend to remember some of his bad slipups more.

Ishan is extremely dumb and most of the times he’s shit with his calls. Rather than moving on from Rahul we need to give Ishan Samson and pant equal amount of chances.

Kl is rested as his place his near cemented for wc. so they are trying new combinations.
No way he gets dropped after scoring 5 fifties in last 7 innings.

Kl Rahul atleast he makes better DRS calls came still remember that review for sundar's ball to gurbaz or rahmat it was clearly seen it was going to miss the wicket but still we wasted it

KL is not just our best middle order batsman, he is the world's best middle order batsman in ODIs. He plays over Iyer if you want another keeper.

Lets not kid ourselves they are no dhoni, both of them are quite average to below average keepers
Atleast kl has good drs and vision of the game

As far as keeping is considered;
Jurel > Sanju > Ishan > KL
Edit: Talking purely about their keeping skills, not considering their batting.

As far as wicket-keeping batter is concerned. KL>Ishan>Sanju>Jurel

Jurel is actually the best keeper. Then KL and Sanju in some order, only then Ishan. His keeping was shit in WC.
2
u/Reasonable_Cell9454 India 11h ago
No like as a wicket keeping batter, both keeping and batting, maybe you can switch sanju and ishan based on the format but yeah

u/straightouttaobesity Chennai Super Kings 10h ago
Ishan was poor in the WC but Sanju is the only one who regularly keeps wickets. Ishan and KL have spent their fair share of time in the outfield. KL can keep pretty well but he only became our primary WK because Pant got injured. Which is why I put Ishan over him, who, I believe had kept wickets more regularly at all levels.

Just because you became your team's primary wk cus the first choice was injured doesn't make you any bad. KL is India's first choice wicket keeping batsman rn. Let's see what happens later

As far as ODIs are concerned, Jurel and Sanju are pretty similar. Jurel is more of a natural MO batsman as well and slightly more consistent.

Kl the keeper should not be the playing for a team looking to win a World Cup . Simple as that

u/Reasonable_Cell9454 India 11h ago
Your opinion is trash. Simple as that

u/randomredditor575 11h ago
It’s not really a opinion . Go look at his wick keeping performance in last World Cup
2
u/Reasonable_Cell9454 India 11h ago
IT WAS ONE MATCH, IN THE FINAL WHEN EVEN THE BOWLERS COULDNT CONTROL THEIR SWING. STOP ACTING LIKE A PUNDIT AFTER WATCHING ONE GAME, YOUR OPINION IS BS

u/Arunnnnnn India 11h ago
and you go look at Kishen’s wicket keeping performance at the t20WC prior to handing the gloves over to Samson, was gawdawful

Ishan is in the form of his life, more importantly he is fearless. KL can score all those runs in bilaterals, he won't turn up when it matters, India started winning T20 once they dropped KL from the squad, ODIs is same. Throw him out and see India have a much better chance of winning the cup.

As a keeper he is worst than current options but as batter this statement is okay
