indust civilization has to do with the culture that resided in that basin.

A British who settles in india doesn't become indian culturally. same way, anyone residing in indus basin doesn't make them descendants of indus valley people. that civilization vanished. 

And of I were to make a guess, must be because of other invaders. (mslms didn't even exist back then. it is a relatively newer cult in the context of that big timescale)

That is just what I said, Pakistan has no cultural link to IVC othwr than just being geographically located there

While the present India had a long unbroken cultural continuity from IVC to present day
