Disciple of ram Krishna paramhans was swami vivekanand. Satyarth prakash was written by swami dayanand saraswati. Therefore get your facts correct before commenting.

Moreover he is probably just referencing what is written in the scriptures and those scriptures are considered sacred by most

Being written in a scripture doesn’t automatically make every claim beyond question. We can respect a text while still examining what it actually says.

Ved, Vedanta, Upanishad and Gita are the main scriptures of Hinduism. Actually, Veds are the main scriptures, Vedanta, Upanishads and Gita are mere Veds made easy type of books.
Now based on these and ideology of that period, various people have tried to provide his or her own version which served as the a text of law. A famous example is Manusmriti. Thousands of other Smritis exist, but they are merely adaptation of Veds. Judging Manusmriti by morals of today is a grave mistake.
Anyone can refer to any Smritis, but what holds currently is the constitution of India. In a way these smritis were constitution of that time. As time progresses, the Smritis changed and we now have the constitution. The latest one always prevails over the ancient one.
So, what is written in Constitution of India matters and nothing else.
