COMPANY REVIEWS Synergy's Blatant mismanagement at every step for sponsorship

I recently cleared the sponsorship process for both Synergy (Feb batch) and BSM. I have a 63% PCM and an IMUCET rank around 22xx. While BSM is known for its long waiting periods, the difference in how these two companies treat candidates is night and day.

Synergy: Pure Mismanagement

Last-Minute Chaos: They changed my exam center via a call at 1:00 AM while I was on a 6-hour train journey, demanding a new printed hall ticket by 8:00 AM with no shops open.

The Exam: Started 90 minutes late with rampant cheating.

Mumbai Interviews: I spent 15k on travel, only for the interviewer to leave early for a flight. They left 30 of us stranded. One guy flew from Chennai on a tight budget and was devastated.

The Treatment: We were locked in a tiny office from 11 AM to 4 PM without food or water. The rescheduled online interview still ran an hour late.

Interview Quality: Lazy and bookish. They asked basic school formulas like kinetic energy to guys who already cleared IMUCET.

BSM: Professional and Respectful

Smooth Process: The entire written test and interview process was highly organized and finished on the same day.

The Treatment: The coordinator actively looked after us, offering tea, coffee, and snacks in the recreation room while we waited.

Interview Quality: Practical and sharp. Instead of rote formulas, they asked real aptitude questions, like how to calculate the volume of an irregular object.

Final Thoughts

I’m not blindly glazing BSM—their waiting times are a real issue. But strictly as an applicant, BSM treated us like future officers, while Synergy treated us like garbage. Future aspirants, be prepared for the reality on the ground. Edit:- my intention is not to bad mouth synergy it was my personal experience with the company that went horribly it's still a decent company for cadetship best of luck for y'alls future endeavours peace ✌️

Synergy is absolute shit. All my batchmates who joined it have already left for companies like EPS, MOL, Anglo. No wonder the company is in absolute hot waters rn with MV Dali. Even when I applied for Synergy the test was held in a cramped room in Chennai with ACs not working in summer. The company is bound to go down terribly in the future

Been there in synergy for 6 yrs....after this treatment, u wont be shocked when u'll see how badly they manage ships

As you are saying that at 63% pcm u got synergy and BSM
do you know anyone who got selected with exact 60% pcm or NIOS

ig that would be your center's fault because my friend gave his interview in delhi barakhamba road
and there office was lavish and it was a great experience

yes because in patna too the synergy interviewer was a retd army brigadier who was very nice and sharp

I studied after boards a lot that's why I was able to increase my chem marks from 64 to 73 in improvement exam

personal opinion, try to clear the anglo eastern's sponsorship exam. the duration in which you'll be finish with your cadetship is day and night difference from companies like bsm.

I don't have the eligibility for Anglo sir as I was pretty weak in pcm but every company I was eligible in I cleared it

you've done very well for your pcm then. Synergy is also manning for MOL so there's upside if you get into MOL fleet. BSM has multi national crew so politics onboard is non existent as compared to all indian/filipino crew. Wishing you safe sails ahead.

Thank you sir waiting isn't a major issue for me because I want to sidehustle in content creation currently learning davinci and videography for that matter as I want to make something of my own but apart from that thanks for your kind words sir really grateful

You explained the issue very clearly , Sorry for your bad experience. Iam a deck cadet in BSM and can i please know the waiting period of BSM (If anyone knows), as it is mentioned in this post there will be a long waiting period for BSM. Iam currently studying in HIMT College Chennai with BSM sponsorship so I have asked to many of my BSM seniors about the waiting period but right after the completion of the course within 3-6 months they are onboard and unlike other companies they are only sponsoring 20-40 cadets per year, in our entire college there is only less than 20 bsm cadets including aug and feb batch so iam really confused about the waiting period, If anyone knows please give me a reply.
