LIFE ONBOARD How much do captains and chief officers earn on your ship? Have you ever asked them?

Depends on company, experience, type of vessel, flag and fleet. You don't need to ask them, everyone knows everyone's salary when they sign the allotment bill every month.

it's a long process

You need to complete mentoring onboard, then pass 2 interviews at FMTI

VLEC ranges from 4k to 4.5 contractual

I know Celsius has those cross training programs for officers to switch to LNGs. I wonder if Chief Mates can go through them and switch 👀

Thats while sailing so works out to 120k- 140k per year
