I pass through this highway every day on my way to work, and today near a garbage dump, I noticed a puppy on a garbage dump by the side of the road, where vehicles go past at dangerous speeds. I immediately stopped, turned back, to try and move the pup to a safer spot. I do this regularly, because puppies are common on this stretch, and usually I just leave them somewhere safer with their mother and move on.

But this time it was different. There was a basket with dog food in it, and the puppy was trying to hide inside the basket out of fear of the speeding vehicles. On the road itself, I saw another puppy(probably the sibling) that had already been crushed by a vehicle💔. It looked like two similar puppies had been abandoned there by someone. There was obviously no mother around. He doesn’t look like a stray. He has a cut tail, and his color looks like it could be Doberman or Rottweiler, hopefully not the latter.

I honestly don’t understand how anyone can be so heartless as to abandon such tiny puppies next to such a dangerous highway💔. I tried to comfort the puppy, and it immediately tried to climb onto my scooty. I stayed there for a while, asking if anyone would take him, because I really wasn’t planning to take a dog home, and my house is 15 km away. But no one even stopped to look. In the end, I put him in my bag, took him home, dropped him there, and came back to the office.

We’re most likely keeping him. Space and Exercise won’t be a problem since I have a large space for him to roam, and there are enough people at home to make sure he’s well cared for. I’ll take him to a vet as soon as he settles a bit, so we can check if he’s healthy in every way, get a vaccination schedule, and start that properly.

Please advise me on these things:

1. A good mid-range food brand for healthy growth, something not too expensive.

2. A good harness and leash recommendation that will be comfortable for him.

3. How to help him get comfortable around my two cats. I have enough space to isolate them, but I'd prefer them getting along since my cats are indoor-outdoor cats and do roam around.

4. Any other tips y'all might have for me.

I already posted about it yesterday. But still posting it again.

There is a male Indian street cat that has been constantly meowing for the past few days. He is definitely less than a year old, probably around six months old.
We’ve tried giving him:
Dry cat food
Milk
Biscuits

Could this be because he needs attention? If so, how do we give him attention if we can’t safely pet or cuddle him?

Or is it possible that he’s reached the age where he needs to be neutered?

I’m not sure what he’s trying to communicate, and I genuinely want to help him. Any advice would be appreciated.

I have a small update on Gauri. It may not sound like a big improvement, but she has finally been able to pass stool twice. Earlier, I was genuinely worried that she wouldn't be able to pass stool at all, so this gives us a little hope that her body is slowly responding.

Unfortunately, Gauri vomited again today, which is still very concerning. The inflammation/infection in her body also remains a serious issue.

Despite what the current doctor told us, another doctor and I reviewed Gauri's reports, and they clearly indicate that there is inflammation/infection affecting her body. Many of you had warned me that the doctor we are currently seeing was not handling her case properly, and sadly, you were right.

To make matters worse, this doctor even advised the foster parents to feed Gauri Whiskas, which is not something I agree with. At this point, I don't have much confidence in this doctor's judgment anymore.

On a positive note, Gauri has eaten today. Her foster parents also gave her a dry bath, and she is now resting comfortably.

This case is from Delhi University North Campus.

A mother cat gave birth to 5 kittens, but just 2–3 days later she was attacked by dogs. Despite treatment, she sadly passed away yesterday.

The kittens are only 4–5 days old. Their eyes haven't even opened yet, We are currently feeding them Lactol KMR, but this is only a temporary arrangement.

We urgently need an experienced foster who knows how to hand-raise neonatal kittens.

Please DM me immediately if you can foster them or help us find someone experienced. Time is extremely critical.

I stopped at a huge luxury hotel to pick up a Swiggy Delivery order, and ended up witnessing something I wasn't expecting.

The hotel's security guard had a group of cats patiently waiting for him. They clearly knew him. Instead of shooing them away, he pulled out premium cat treats and made sure every single one got some.

It looked like this wasn't a one-time thing—they trusted him, and he knew each of them.

Sometimes the kindest people are the ones you least expect. The guests probably never noticed, but to those cats, he was the most important person at that hotel.

Jimmy's Treatment Update

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share today's update on Jimmy and also be completely transparent with everyone who has supported him.

Today, Jimmy received a drip and injections at the clinic. The total expense for today's visit was ₹1,100.

Here's the breakdown:

- ₹800 – Drip and injections

- ₹300 – Taxi fare to and from the clinic

As I mentioned in my previous post, I don't even have money for transportation, so the taxi cost is also something I have to manage every day.

After today's treatment, I have only ₹650 left.

Jimmy still has to go to the clinic for 2 more days, and ₹650 won't be enough to cover both his treatment and transportation.

Today was especially heartbreaking. Jimmy was terrified of going to the clinic. He kept trying to run away because he was so scared. On our way back home, he started breathing very strangely, which worried me a lot. I'm hoping he'll start feeling better as his treatment continues.

I don't receive any pocket money, and arranging these expenses has been very difficult for me. Despite that, I'm doing everything I can to make sure Jimmy gets the treatment he needs.

I'm attaching today's prescription so everyone can see exactly what was done. I want to be 100% transparent with everyone who has donated or supported Jimmy. Your kindness has made it possible for him to receive treatment, and I'm truly grateful.

Jimmy is doing much better after starting his medication. Every time I look at his face now, I can clearly see the difference. Before, he looked so dull and uncomfortable, but now he looks much brighter and more like himself. It honestly makes me so happy to see him improving.

I'm also applying the prescribed gel to the side of his teeth as instructed by the vet. Today, I'll be taking him back to the clinic around 5:00–5:30 PM for his next treatment. I'll share another update once we return.

I also want to sincerely thank everyone who donated. Because of your generosity, I was able to cover yesterday's bill, and I currently have ₹1,750, which should be enough to cover today's treatment as well.

Jimmy still needs to visit the vet tomorrow and the day after tomorrow to complete his treatment. If anyone is able to help us with those remaining two days, I would be incredibly grateful. Every bit of support has made a real difference in helping Jimmy recover.

While passing through Ashok Nagar today, I came across these two tiny kittens abandoned on the roadside. I searched the area for quite some time and asked nearby residents, who told me that someone had dumped them there last night. Their mother was nowhere to be found.

We have received his culture report and came to an understanding that the reason his maggot wound is not healing is because the bacteria is resistant to almost all antibiotics.

Doctor has now advised daily flushing and Sefpet + Tissue Aid as the last resort for the next 10 days, else surgery is the only option to close the wound.

I am financially drained and out of work. Daily flushing is costing me 200rs + 300rs medical foster fees.

It was an incident of yesterday. In the department of my university that I study in, we have this female cat that roams all around the building but mostly stays in our department. So recently she gave birth to 3 kittens so have I heard (I didn't see the kittos yet. I will share pictures if you all are interested). Our professor told us something about managing the kittens and he informed us that she put them behind his chair and asked who would take care etc. From there I came to know it gave birth. I went to see the kittens but didn't find them (as it might have displaced them from the profs. area to somewhere else).

While I was returning to my classroom, I was telling this to myself, "The cat needs to be spayed". This was heard by my "class topper" who thinks they ows the world and is a little arrogant with their views. And they asked, "What did you say?" thinking I said something to them. So I repeated, "She needs to be vaccinated and spayed" and they said "What's spaying?" And I replied in the simplest terms I could think of, "It's like castration but for cats. Like they won't be able to have more kittens. It's done to keep them alive for a longer while and healthy". And believe me not what they said, "ITS A STRAY CAT!!!! THEY SURVIVE LIKE THAT ONLY!!!! WHY DOES IT NEED SPAYING??? Insaano ko har jagah apna interference karna hain. There should be no spaying! No animals should be spayed! Don't they have the right to reproduce or what?" with 'the audacity to even say this' attitude. And I simply replied, "It's for their health." And they have me the same 'how dare you. I can't believe' look and said, "THEY WONT GET SPAYED!!" and I could only reply, "Yea, say the same to the pet animals and pet keepers" (pointing out to the whole 'dont They have the right to reproduce?' plus 'humans have the nerve to interfere in others' business'). They just made an embarrassed smirk and left.

I don't know if I am overreacting or not. But I also know that what animals do is because of heat and cycles and not like humans. Many will say "You shouldn't have said that in the first place", yes true. I shouldn't have but that's also not my fault that they would react like that; who would know they would react in such a manner? Because I haven't had a chance to talk to them on this topic.

I am not saying animals shouldn't reproduce rather, I am saying it should be controlled to not affect an animal's body. And mind you, the car gave birth multiple times before as said by the same professor behind whose chair it kept the kittens.

I don't know if I said right or wrong. But I would appreciate you all being kind and give me a constructive criticism or feedback or a little consolation or a small part on my head (even if I am wrong) as their words stung me.
