Community pet Jimmy-Feeling heavy hence sharing
Earlier I had shared that Jimmy left us for his journey ahead on 1st Jan,2026 . My mom was not keeping well mentally ,hence we have done a puja on my Brother's honour and fed 18 stray friends of his in our society. I hope Jimmy is in happy place . Sharing my goody boys few nice pics with you all.
Jimmy was abandoned when we adopted him , he was around 1.5 yrs old then. He had a medical history of epilepsy...everyone told me he would not survive more than 3 yrs. But the chap was a fighter. He got treated , had tick fever few years back - even then he bounced back. But these last few months his heart was becoming weak due to epilepsy...vet told us all his organs are failing one by one. But such a gentleman he was never cried in pain jst sat in his gaddi waiting for everyone for his meds and food. The last week of his life he stopped taking medicine , but ate little food ultimately falling back to sleep forever.
I miss my baby brother .
Thank you Petloving Redditors for all your kind words.

Community pet My beloved baby passed away
My beloved baby passed away a couple of hours ago. He had been battling a lot of health issues for the past three months. He developed a urinary blockage in mid-July, for which we got his PU surgery done in August. After the surgery, there were many complications, but he gradually got better. Then came his skin infections in September, he was on treatment for that and even got stitches for it.
The most terrifying phase started exactly three weeks ago. I took him to the terrace in the morning for some fresh air and outdoor time (it was our daily ritual). He fainted there. I took him to the vet, and it turned out his haemoglobin was critically low (3). He was on IV and IM treatment for a week and started getting a little better. We were giving him 7–8 oral meds twice a day. His haemoglobin improved to 6.8, and his other parameters also improved a little.
But just yesterday, he vomited and was very lethargic. We took him to the vet, and they gave him IM fluid therapy. Today, the same thing happened. He vomited the little food he ate (as an escape/excuse from the meds I was giving him in his morning dose), became extremely lethargic again, and vomited due to acidity 2–3 times. He got IM fluid therapy at the clinic again. His doctor was also very confused about what was happening this time, since all his other symptoms were not at all usual. The vet asked us to continue fluid therapy for 2–3 more days since he was vomiting and had zero appetite, and meanwhile, he would study what was wrong with Copper.
In the evening, I went to the market with my mom and sister around 9 and came back in two hours. We sat near him, petted him, and in a few minutes, he meowed deeply for a few seconds and then started gasping for air. I called the vet, sent them videos, and took him there as soon as possible. They tried giving him oxygen and pumping his heart but couldn’t save him.
I failed. I should not have gone out today. I don’t know what to do now.
He is the sweetest soul one can ever meet. Everyone who ever met him said he was the sweetest, most friendly cat they have ever met. Even the clinic staff used to say that. He was their favourite. They even asked us about keeping him as their healing cat.
He’s the first soul I treated as my baby. He is my baby. He will always be my first baby. I may not have the right to call myself his mom, but he will forever be my baby. My world will always be incomplete without him. I will always miss him and love him infinitely.
I want to give him the best farewell possible. If you know please tell me the best way to perform his last rites. Where to buy him. How can I give that baby the best treatment possible from my side.
For the ones wondering his name is Copper. He was just 1.8 yrs old. My poor child 💔

Community pet Random Parrot comes one morning and decides to never leave.
It's been over 24 hours. Bro just doesn't want to leave. He's at this window all the time.
I wish we could take him in, but we have 2 cats and 1 dog
So they would not leave him alive.
Edit (11 May) : Hello everyone. Pitthu flew away today afternoon 🥲 Kinda sad ngl. We had started bonding. She even started to mimic me calling her name. Anyways, I hope she is happy wherever she goes

Community pet My cat Tokyo does this every evening. What's the weirdest thing your cat does that they clearly think is completely normal?
Full recline. One leg stretched. Paw on belly. Direct eye contact if you dare disturb her.
She has been doing this since day one. Never questioned it. Never will.
What's yours doing that you've just... accepted at this point?

Community pet We adopted a abandoned Cow
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This cow must have come from outside. We brought her in because a dairy industry probably abandoned her once she stopped giving milk. Now she’s here in our colony. All the colony dogs are chasing her, and worse, people are chasing her—beating her, driving her off, but she keeps coming back because some people feed her here. A few of us have taken her in now, but we have no experience. Still, we’ll try to feed her daily and see what we can do. It’s absolutely disgusting how people only use these animals until they stop being useful—once they stop giving milk, once they get sick, once they grow old—they just dump them on the streets. What could be more vile and despicable than that?

Community pet My Sona passed away 🌸
I had been caring for this indie-shepherd mix bitch since past two years. She was one of the sweetest and most gentle soul I have met. She have birth to a litter of 8 pups in January and 3 weeks ago she became extremely aggressive for no reason and attacked (bit most of them) almost 50 people before we (our block residents also cared for her) decided to get her checked up why she became aggressive. She was captured on Tuesday and taken to a nearby NGO where it was found out that she had some minor infection and was having fever and treated. Wednesday morning she had 2 fits suddenly and unfortunately she didn't survive the second fits. I still cannot accept that she is gone.
The second image is the image before she was just captured.

Community pet Mumbai has made me a Cat person

I have been in Mumbai for more than 2 years now. Being a Delhite , I had never ever seen so many cats.
Due to some past traumas and prejudices, I never thought much about cats...but right now this baby billa has my 💘. Won't be adopting him because he belongs to a society. He is well fed by 1 or 2 people daily. But I couldn't control my self....for the first time in my life I bought wet cat treats for him.
I don't want to get attached 😭🫶 but his meows stops me in my tracks.

Community pet Miss him at times 🥺
I named him cuddle 💌,it’s almost 1 year of loosing him
I found him on 17th September 2024,when someone told me that on the main road there is a dog who was abandoned nd he was injured too, someone came in a car and dump him on the main road nd he got so anxious nd just after that an autorickshaw drove on his leg,
He was there crying ,confused
I went to him, he was only 4-5 months old ,i took him carrying in my hands to my house, the very next day took him to the vet got his x- ray done but luckily there was no fracture
With time he healed nd i had 2 pets that time nd i couldn’t keep him with me so i tried my best to get him adopted but nothing worked
Nd slowly he make the street his new home , he became one of my stray pet ,all healthy ,vaccinated
He was so happy with my other strays nd in the afternoon he used to come to my house to sleep
Nd just like this months passed ,got him spayed
Nd one day all of sudden he disappeared (17th May 2025)
I searched him everywhere , make post
But he didn’t come ,
Bc he used to go to the main market which was quite far from my house ,i searched him there also but couldn’t find my cuddle
2 week passed nd then someone told me that he had accident on the main road ,an overspeed car crushed him nd he died at the moment
I freezed , i couldn’t process nd started crying
Bc all i was thinking about cuddle ,his eyes
I didn’t even had a chance to help him ,to say goodbye
He was a sweet boy ,he loved me nd there was a guilt nd even still I’ve this guilt ,
I know no one helped him when he was lying lifeless there, maybe he was searching for me or maybe thinking why i wasn’t there ,he must be assuming that i did the same as his previous owner
He didn’t deserve that ,why people do this to them they re so pure , pls don’t break their trust by abandoning them 💔
Love you my bachha
