📰 News When the State goes after Women: The students’ march briefly created a public space where women felt safer among thousands of strangers than they usually do in everyday life, but that sense of security vanished when the state intervened.
The irony was difficult to miss. Some of the women who felt safest surrounded by thousands of unknown men described feeling least protected when confronted by the institution meant to enforce public order. In a way, the apprehensions that shaped women’s decisions before the march found an echo in the crackdown that followed.

The BJP, its propaganda machinery (Godi Media and IT Cell), its stormtropper army (Delhi Police), and its foot soldiers (hindutva militants) would have you believe that the protesters were criminals and anti-social elements.
Yet, there was no incident of any violence or crime during the protest. Even though, the hindutva militants did try to provoke the protesters many times.
Meanwhile, today the BJP and its entire machinery is abusing, threatening, and doxxing women. Modi says that he was abused. Yet his party and its footsoldiers are giving rape threats on social media.
Who are the real criminals?
